Re: [libreoffice-marketing] LibreOffice and "datamining" - opportunity?

2023-07-12 Thread Anshuman Pandey
Hi Mike,

This is very topical in the Open Source community. Given the news on
RedHat and Fedora and people's concerns on privacy, it is a good time to
have a marketing campaign. Here are a few ideas (basically builds on
your example)

1. Similar to the prior: No (In large Font) next to a) Data Mining, b)
Telemetry, c) Hidden Algorithms

2. Instead of the NO, we can use a spyglass and cross it out in the
first idea

3. Puppet Strings: Show a bunch of documents  attached to puppet
strings, being controlled by a hand (representing other office
software). Next to this, show some documents free from strings and happy
under the LibreOffice logo, illustrating the freedom and control you
have over your documents.

4. Road Sign: Create a visual of a road sign with one direction labeled
"Data Mining, Telemetry, Hidden Algorithms" and the other "LibreOffice",
showing the clear distinction between the paths.

For these ideas we can use a subtitle within the image as - "Don't worry
about prying eyes on your data or hidden AI algorithms. With
LibreOffice, your content is yours alone."

Kind Regards,

Anshuman

While working on the Impress screenshots, I wondered, what are we aiming

Hi Mike,

In response to your query about my operating system, I'm currently using
Fedora 38 (GNU/Linux) with GNOME 44 DE, alongside LibreOffice. Having
noted that, I do have a few clarifications to seek regarding the
screenshots. The examples you've previously sent focus primarily on the
LibreOffice interface, without showing the operating system they were
running on. In providing my screenshots, should I also capture elements
of the OS interface, or just focus on LibreOffice? Additionally, my
current display settings are set to dark mode. Please advise if you'd
prefer a different appearance for the screenshots.

As for the video portion, I understand your requirements and am ready to
proceed accordingly. I just wanted to confirm whether my default OS
appearance - Fedora with GNOME, set to Dark Mode (both the OS and
LibreOffice) - is acceptable for the recording.

I'm delighted to contribute and assist in any way I can. Please don't
hesitate to reach out if there's anything else you need or any specific
guidelines I should adhere to for the screenshot and video.

Kind Regards,

Anshuman

2023-07-05 Thread Anshuman Pandey
Hi Mike,

Thank you for sending the details of the tasks.

Screenshots: I can start on this ASAP and provide 4-5 screenshots for each of
the Writer, Impress, and Calc programs. As I understand the idea is to show the
capability of the software to handle various complex tasks. I will aim to
provide this to you latest by Monday (10th) afternoon India time, let me know
if this is ok.

Video: Given my video editing skills are not up to the mark, it will be good if
someone more experienced can work with me, I am happy to provide the different
video snippets of what's new in the new version.

Local Marketing Activities: I am currently based in Mumbai (India) but starting
end of next week would travel extensively until the end of the year in the US,
Canada and India. During this time, I will be visiting family members and
attending to some personal affairs. But, I am happy to support any local
marketing remotely until I find my next long term station.

Kind Regards,

Anshuman

Re: [libreoffice-marketing] What is Thunderbird doing differently to TDF?

2023-05-11 Thread Anshuman Pandey
IMO this shows how important consumer engagement and thoughtful UX can do. They
have seen 40% CAGR from 2017-2021 and would have gotten a decent 30% jump over
2021 with just their engagement strategy. But they went beyond just asking for
donations to making it accessible and easy to do so for every user. I assume
most of the existing users upgraded because it was a big release and the daily
prompting with smooth UX to donate would have captured the uplift we see. Great
lesson in increasing the customer lifetime value. It would be an interesting
2023 for them, I am not counting on another 130% YoY growth, but it has
potential to go over the 40% CAGR that we saw in the last few years.

Kind Regards,

Ansh

Hi Italo,
It's great to be connected and thank you for getting back so promptly. Please
let me know a few open timeslots that work for both you and Mike in the coming
weeks. As mentioned, I am in China Time Zone, so it will be great if you can
consider that as well; I am generally free around 5 - 6 PM China time (11 AM
-12 Noon CEST).

Kind Regards,
Ansh

[libreoffice-marketing] Hello TDF!

2023-05-05 Thread Anshuman Pandey
Dear Marketing Team of The Document Foundation,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Anshuman (Ansh) and I am writing
to introduce myself and express my interest in contributing to TDF's marketing
efforts.

I am originally from India and have been residing in Mainland China for the
past nine years. I hold an MBA from a prestigious school in China and have
worked in the field of consumer insights and marketing strategy for both the
brand side (with ABInBev) and consultancy side (with Kantar). During my
engineering degree in India, I became passionate about the world of FOSS and
even attended some events in Bangalore back in 2008. As such, FOSS is very near
and dear to my heart.

I will be going on a sabbatical for a few months beginning in June, and I would
love to contribute to TDF's marketing efforts during this time and beyond.
While most of my experience is in market analysis and strategy development for
consumer goods, I am eager to gain marketing execution experience in the field
of software/Hi-tech. I can help with presentations and translations for my
native language Hindi, and I am also happy to join strategy and brainstorming
sessions to learn from you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email. I look forward to the
possibility of working with you and contributing to the important work that The
Document Foundation is doing.

Kind regards,
Anshuman (Ansh)
