Re: [MeeGo-dev] yum and zypper
By graphical tool, do you mean Application - System Tools - Manage Apps ? If so, I am seeing some differences between this GUI tool and zypper search. Take XFCE for example, I just installed everything I can see under this GUI tool for XFCE. I went to Terminal and did zypper search and there are still many XFCE packages available to install. Is there a reason why? Mark On Thu, Aug 5, 2010 at 2:32 PM, Auke Kok auke-jan.h@intel.com wrote: On 08/05/10 10:49, Mark S. Townsley wrote: What is the difference between yum and zypper on Meego? There are some internal differences which make them more or less suitable, but all in all the differences to normal users isn't large. There's no difference on the repository side. zypper should have the same list of repositories as yum, and they use the same file format. You can use both to update your system if you're not using the graphical update tool. Auke ___ MeeGo-dev mailing list MeeGo-dev@meego.com http://lists.meego.com/listinfo/meego-dev
