just a quick message to all mods on this list. My name is Richard

wondering if any of you could check out our website and tell me what you
think, we have ahd some quite good reviews in the press (see the 'what
people have said about the days' page on the site) but I am after some
constructive criticism from fellow mods. we are itroducing an organ to
the line up, but havnt updated the page yet.

well i checked out the site and i don't know what 'modskin' went on
about either but i won't get into that...

richie - since you asked, here's some helpful hints to improve the site
(in my humble opinion). all in all, the site doesn't seem to say much
about the band. there are many unnecessary links. all you need for a
band website are a few links: 'band bio' - 'music section' - 'contact
info' - 'band photos' (not individual ones) - 'latest news' , etc. keep
it simple and easy to navigate. the site came off more like a bunch of
friends putting up a website just for the hell of it. if you're serious
about your music, you should be dead serious about your website.

Re: New Mod band worth checking out

2001-01-09 Thread Jami Summers

My favorite musicians include The Partridge Family, The Jerms, The
Temptations (c. Psychedelic Shack), Thelonious Monk, The New Radicals, and
the Charlatans.

Bob Dylan? What are you a bleeding hippie?

Secret Affair, Small Faces, and the Jam? Could you be any more obvious? Paul
Weller, Steve Marriott, and Ian Page don't even rate highly enough to lick
the brown stains out of my knickers.

Re: New Mod band worth checking out

2001-01-08 Thread thedays

So just because Im only 19, Im not allowed to be a mod? twat! Also, just because IM a
republican does that mean I cant listen to a certain type of music? again, twat! Thats
like saying if someone isnt black they cant listen to hip hop or r'n'b. My favourite
bands are the jam, secret affair, small faces, the who. Nowadays I like the spidermen,
ocean colour scene. My hero is Paul Weller. I dress like a mod. I listen to mod music.
i feel like a mod. the music my band plays is mod music. just because Im not a racist
does not suddenly disqualify me from being a mod..or does it? because if it does then
I dont know if I want to be a mod anymore. The picture of me in the irish rugby shirt
was taken in dublin, after watching Ireland vs Scotland at rugby..it was brought as a
memento from holiday in Dublin...so that makes me not a mod then? your a biggotted
prick!

oh...I guess my browser sent me to the wrong site then...didn't notice any Mods on the page you listed here.
 I listen to mod music.
Oh, like the bands you listed as influences? Jamiroquai? REM? Zepplin? That's great!
just because Im not a racist does not suddenly disqualify me from being a mod..
You don't really need any assistance in disqualifying yourself as a Mod

Man, this is getting better and betterI laughed my ass off after viewing the website, but figured it was an elaborate joke. Now I'm starting to wonder if it's all realthen it's no longer funny, just pathetic, frightening actually. I must agree with 'Modskin' :"Sorry boys, but you're fucking idiots."

If, however this site was a farce and intended only to make people on this lists blood boil the mastermind is brilliant. You've got alot of time on you're hands. Either way if this site is genuine or not, thanks for the laughs, it's been a rough week.

Re: New Mod band worth checking out

2001-01-08 Thread Moon1678

YOU CUNTS,

There's nothing wrong with his page. You annoy me when you pick apart every
new member on this list because they don't fit the description of the YOU
mod. Is it some sort of hazing technique?? No one deserves that. Let him
think his own thoughts, and life his own mod life. I didn't think being mod
was about wearing "mod" clothes anyway, or so I've read on here. And if you
would've paid attention to anything at all, you would've learned where he was
from in the first few sentences of his posting, and that he was only looking
for constructive criticism, not two narrow-minded hecklers' rude statements,
just waiting for the posting of an aspiring mod so that they can completely
disrespect and embarass them in front of everyone on this list. It just
proves that all your looking for is a new kid that you can kick down in hopes
to make everyone think that you're the cool mod. GO BACK TO THE SCHOOLYARD.
Bullies and pricks aren't wanted here.

Ryan

Mod is about the music and nothing else
Love the music
But fuck fake nostalgia
Fuck mod/soul nights
Fuck scenes
Fuck scenesters
Fuck scooters
Fuck that scene from the Blow-Up that you all wish you lived in
Fuck each and every last one of you

If it was indie/retro/Euro chic maybe you'd all be disco-dancing Saturday
Night Fever posers instead

Here you go, see for yourself. I guess we all must abide by Ryans loose term of Mod. It amuses me when those attempting to come across as the amiable, open-minded pal to all are in fact the ones with padlocks on their sculls. These "kids" as you like to call them, (I don't know if you remember being 19, but "kid" is generally not an applicable label) are more than capable of defending themselves from anything dished out by members of this list. You don't have to lashout at me and the other "moron". Anyway, I'm fairly convinced the sight is just a rather large joke fabricated by some unemployed bastard. Who really knows?
