Re: Re[2]: [MP3 ENCODER] Windoze batch/GUI interface?
CH Exactly! But WAIT! There's nothing else TO use for Lame! If you want, you can try out WinLAMEr (http://home.nikocity.de/jack.the.coder/). It doesn't show ETA times etc. but you can set almost all options of LAME. Tilman Sauerbeck -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ )

Hello Robert, Monday, June 05, 2000, 8:11:52 PM, you wrote: RH there is no need to do that! You already have RH the BEST frontend for LAME, your DOS BOX! No, this will never make lame popular in windows world. imho most want to have only three things: speed, one big button to push and at the end, quality. and they are affraid of command line. RH Recent versions of Lame have a batch file lame.bat RH included, which you could adapt to your needs too! RH Then put it on your desktop and drop some wave RH files on it. oops. i will put it to my package. sorry Robert Best regards, Dmitrymail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ )

Hello Charlton, Monday, June 05, 2000, 7:34:52 PM, you wrote: CH From V1 to V4 incrementally. The filesizes were CH all the same in the end! What's up with that? CH Okay, so first of all, all I got to say is LOST THE SOURCE CODE?! CH That's just plain stupid. but why? he doesn't have raid at home, so after disk crash 8((( ok may be it is not so, i only hear about this in FIDO CH 2nd, so why do I have to chose a bitrate? And again which command line CH option will it use? (-b or -B)? as i said it use -b. if you don't want to chose bitrate (during vbr encoding) make -b very small. for -B you can use 'other parameters' option CH I've only been putting one song per batch. Still doesn't work. hm, still works... may be your -b is too high. sorry for my english: try to use menu from the first program's page for -V (a bit upper than 'encode' button) CH Exactly! But WAIT! There's nothing else TO use for Lame! yes 8))) CH Guess I'll have to make one myself. Which I can say I honestly have been CH tempted to do. All it would take is a few hours to come up with something CH better than lamebatch. Best regards, 8) Dmitrymail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ )

Hello Charlton, Wednesday, May 31, 2000, 6:07:38 AM, you wrote: CH No, it DOESN'T work. mmm sorry, it DOES work (ok, except ETA times) CH First of all, what's up with the bitrate menu? Is it the -b or -B ? CH And why is it you HAVE to choose one? as i know eugene have lost his sources, so this version is old. in october 1999 we have no such option as -B, only -b CH But the biggest problem is I made several encodings with every option CH the same except the -V (variable quality). I made batches with 0, 1, 2, CH 3, 4. I couldn't understand the relationship between the size of the CH files and the -V number. In otherwords -V0 -V1 -V2 -V3 -V4 CH relationship to file sizes was NOT true. i think you don't know that settings from the second program's page is the default settings, so if you want to change encoding options you may choose it for every song on the first program's page. i think here was your mistake CH I THINK THAT THE LAMEBATCH LINK SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF THE LAME WEBPAGE. oops!!! if you don't like it don't use it!!! CH I've spent many hours confused with what I thought was lame and it turned CH out to be lamebatch... Hello Charlton, CH No, it DOESN'T work. CH I THINK THAT THE LAMEBATCH LINK SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF THE LAME WEBPAGE. My mothertongue is not english, so no big statement here. Simply: rtfm. I, and with me 100s of users seem to manage to get it working in vbr mode perfectly so please don't come here shouting it doesn't work. -- Best regards, Roelmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MP3 ENCODER mailing list ( http://geek.rcc.se/mp3encoder/ )
