not working properly so.. removed WSUS & SUP... now its
synchronizing..after that testing purpose windows 10 patches downloaded

[mssms] Windows 10 Servicing

2017-07-13 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

I'm new to Windows 10 Servicing plans.

I prepared the Windows 10 Image and deployed on some machine. Now realized
the Windows 10 Servicing. When i check in SCCM Service Plan Dashboard most
of the machines 98% machines showing as expires soon. Most of them are ready
for release .(CB)

when i checked the windows 10 version is *"Windows 10.0.14393". *

So my questions

1) what is the latest build
2) do i get the latest build from Microsoft .So that i can directly deploy
that image(im assuming )
3) can i upgraded to latest build which i have already deployed
4) any other things i need to consider for this

i'm with 1703 SCCM version

[mssms] SCCM Design query for small number of machines

2017-07-07 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi Team,

i have a sccm infra in across the globe ..USA (500 machines), Japan (300),
Korea(50-300) ,Canada(100-300)

so WAN speed is 10 MBPS from other offices to Head quaters USA.

as of now SCCM infra is Standalone primary server...

so if i want to manage the other regions, should I just install the
Standard DP is fine in all locations ?

I want to use the features are Inventory,Patching, OSD (with PXE and
USB),Complience management,app/package deployment..

Also If i dont want the PXE based OSD.. Can i go with workstation DP ? (any
technet document for this like Workstation DP is supprted)

I'm with SCCM 1610.

Thanks
Kevin

[mssms] SCCM Compliance Management & Package deploy for XML file deployment

2017-07-06 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

I'm looking for file to copy on sccm client at path C:\install\Folder

to go more detailed

I want to deploy a XML file on all machines

so i created a baseline for that.. for existence of that XML file. Now my
next step,

Where ever its non-complaint it should copy the XML file ( Is their any way
to fix by using remediation in Compliance management itself ?)

or I'm looking to create a collection with non-complaint machines. But How
to deploy the Xml file using Software distribution package.

In package content folder I will place the XML .. once the package
downloaded to client folder to should move automatically to
C:\install\folder... if the folder is not created it should create and
paste it...

any script for this please ...

[mssms] Machine name change after the image - any issue ?

2017-05-22 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

we have some small image lab where we build the Machines with bulk machine
at a time with ramdom machine names

When we got the request for any machine, We will rename the machine and
send to them.(since we dont the machine name till last mint)

I guess something we are doing wrong . What are things i need to do a
cleanup activity in AD

so my questions are :

Is any issue with SCCM client ?
Any cleanup i need to do on Domain (deleting old record, etc)
Any cleanup i need to do on SCCM ?

any best practices

My question is about SCEP client.. Do i need to deploy SCEP agent. I hope

The report server isn’t configured properly. Contact your system
administrator to resolve the issue. System administrators: The report
server can’t access or use the encryption key. You might need to add the
server to the scale-out group, reimport encrypted content, or delete all
encrypted content and generate a new encryption key

[mssms] USMT Hard-Link not cleaning all information in REGEDIT

2017-03-21 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

When i'm trying to image a machine using hard link(USMT Capture Locally by
using Links instead of by copying Files)..Still I can able to see old OS
Image related registry information Under

(*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion)*. also i
want to understand how its capturing the details of "
*RegisteredOrganization*" and "*RegisteredOwner*"..

Since USMT Hard link wont Format it will just 1'Wipe and load" using links.
I have to accept this thing ? or some thing wrong i have done.. if this is
the default behavior then i have to go for SMP based ?

Thanks
Kevin

[mssms] UEFI transfering

2017-03-20 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

I don't have knowledge on Bios upgrades. I would like to get more
understanding on UEFI.

So if a company wants to migrate windows 10 .. Do i need to check their
machines current BIOS Setting related to UEFI ..What kind of instruction i
need to check related to BIOS

[mssms] User profile migration with windows 10

2017-03-17 Thread Kevin Ray
Hi All,

I have X(old domains with windows 7) and Y(new domain with windows10)

Now I'm trying to migrate the X domain machines.

Here Both X and Y are different forests. No trust...both are different

so here when i added X domain machines to Y domain. Users are loading with
new profiles.

So When I'm doing Windows 10 Deployment on Y domain... USMT only looking on
windows 7 with new domain profiles and ignoring the old X domain profiles

How i can merge both into Single profile. so that USMT will pick up the
date and restores on windows 10.

Please let me know if i'm not clear...

user want to change or to remove some files(ex: In my build i have a Google
Chromo short, user want delete.. its asking for admin rights) it prompting
for Administrator rights ...

for testing i have deployed the UAC disable (
https://prajwaldesai.com/disable-user-account-control-using-group-policy/)

then now its showing ...

So what exactly i need to do for fixing the issue.. Do i need to add any
local policies in task sequence

as of now , As a workaround am adding the user as local admin...
