it depends .. sometimes you want special font treatment; so there is

- first following the name chain
- then as fallback the typeface one

[NTG-context] Wrong cache-path with luatex

2008-10-24 Thread Holzminister
Hi!

Within my luatex-chache directory there is the directory
2afa1e18082b2d9b8e2af9f2c6e925a6. But when I call texexec --lua it
searches for a directory called 0aa031a3f94c398f99a9660a610ae9ef. I
linked this with the existing one, but now luatex can't find any
fontfiles anymore.

Running luatex with --fmt=.../2afa1e18082b2d9b8e2af9f2c6e925a6
everything works fine.

luatools --generate says alot about 2afa1e18082b2d9b8e2af9f2c6e925a6.

I'm using the latest Contextgarden-Beta.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Best regards,
Eyke

This gives you only bold label.

 \starttext
 \startMPcode

 \stoptext

Tex colors do not work inside textext. Try

label(textext(\startcolor[red] red \stopcolor), origin) ;

One way to get around this is to use \sometxt.

label(\sometxt{\doattributes{label}{style}{color}{Label}},(5cm,0)) ;

But then you have to be careful about the differences between \sometxt in
MKII and MKIV (which I need to summarize on the wiki).

Re: [NTG-context] Colored labels with MetaPost in MkII

 Hi all,

 what is the best method to format MetaPost labels in MkII with \doattributes.

 \startMPenvironment[global]
 \setupcolors[state=start]

 \def\labelstyle{bold}
 \def\labelcolor{red}
 \stopMPenvironment

 This gives you only bold label.

I try to avoid this.

 \starttext
 \startMPcode
 label(textext(\doattributes{label}{style}{color}{Label}),origin) ;
 \stopMPcode
 \stoptext

 Tex colors do not work inside textext. Try

 label(textext(\startcolor[red] red \stopcolor), origin) ;

 One way to get around this is to use \sometxt.

 label(\sometxt{\doattributes{label}{style}{color}{Label}},(5cm,0)) ;

This helped me.

 But then you have to be careful about the differences between \sometxt in
 MKII and MKIV (which I need to summarize on the wiki).

I use different code for MkII and MkIV and could use the best for each file.

Thanks and regards,
Wolfgang

Re: [NTG-context] Thank you for the Chinese support, but still one question.

2008-10-24 Thread Yue Wang
I think this is a problem concerning the improper variables in the font:(
The em space should not get from the chinese fonts, but directly from
the font size the user invoked (for example, for 30pt font 1em=30pt ).

 Oh, btw, Yanrui Li also has a problem concerning the space between
 chinese and english (different space skips when use different chinese
 fonts). He is also in the list so I think it is better to leave to him
 to describe the problem.

 I have ever report the problem in the mail,
 http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2008/035084.html, with an
 example for test. Wolfgang gave me a temporary solution which is
 \spaceskip .25em plus .25em \relax. But it can only works in
 bodyfont. To make the text appeared in chapter or title display
 normally, I had to do as follows:

 \def\WordSkip{\spaceskip .25em plus .25em \relax}
 \setuphead[chapter][textcommand=\WordSkip]

[NTG-context] bib module error with context 2008.10.23

2008-10-24 Thread Michael Green
After updating the minimals for OSX-intel, I get an error when using
the bib module. Here's the relevant bit of the log.

Thanks!

p.s. this isn't urgent for me. I'm just rolling back to the previous,
working installation.

2008-10-24 Thread Arthur Reutenauer
 next meeting we must study a new strategy.The last wasn't strong enough .
 Maybe more beer (ok, I was silver medal this year, I can do better)

  Not if I'm allowed to compete :- But anyway, if we want *more* beer
than we had in Bohinj, we probably need to appoint someone especially
for that on the organization committee, and we should rent a truck. Or,
we could have the meeting held in a brewery.

For what I remember, you were allowed,
there was only an overflow of your counter.

[NTG-context] mkiv, luatex and tikz

2008-10-24 Thread Alan BRASLAU
Tikz seems to be broken under luatex.
As is, compiling something as simple as
\usemodule[tikz]
\starttext
Hello, world!
\stoptext
gives errors.

Hi!

  arggh

  Discerning the driver is really a problem in ConTeXt, at least for a
  non-context-guru like myself.

  As a quick fix, you will have to define the driver yourself by saying

  \def\pgfsysdriver{pgfgsys-pdftex.def}

  or whatever seems appropriate before tikz/pgf are loaded. That should
  shut up the (not-working) automatic driver detection.

  Does some context-guru on the list happen to know what is the right,
  official way to find out which backend is used?

  Best regardsm
  Till

This won't work with luatex (but it does compile without error messages)
and I cannot (easily) figure out what the correct driver should be...

Since I don't speak that language, someone could explain why this code
doesn't work when I put a stopper in subitemization?
The standard dot isn't a stopper itself?
