[nysbirds-l] Snow Buntings

2017-01-22 Thread Trista Nealon
Hi,

If anyone happens to see snow buntings today near Jones Beach and Point Lookout
can you let me know because we are getting ready to head back to DC and I
dipped on them yesterday. May try one more time on the way out of town!
Thanks!

[nysbirds-l] Visiting birders from N. Virginia

2017-01-18 Thread Trista Nealon
Hi,

My son and I are from Northern Virginia and will be birding Long Island this
weekend for the first time. We would like to see Common Eider, Harlequin Duck,
and Snow Bunting. We have eBird, but I always like to check in with the locals
when birding somewhere new. We'll try for the Townsend's Solitaire too if it's
still being seen. Any advice or favorite hotspots would be appreciated.
Thanks!
