hi kevin, if you are not using OTC's single-sign-on feature (or not using a preconfigured username/password) you might have to add the following parameter to your freeRDP application: -u --no-nla there will be a fix/workaround for this issue in upcoming freeRDP releses. cheers, martin Am 22.07.2011 15:20, schrieb Kevin Halstead: Hi, I've attempted to apply the freeRDP, bit it doesn't work. So I'm afraid it hasn't worked for me I'm afraid :( Hopefully a new version of freeRDP will be released soon which fully supports it. Thanks for your help anyway. Re: [openthinclient-user] [Openthinclient-user] rdesktop only passes first three characters of login to Virtual Desktop
Hi Tobias, I have attempted to integrate Rdesktop 1.7.0 without much success. My openthinclient is running on Windows (no choice on that), so I have used a Ubuntu installation and installed all the tcos-dev packages and dependancies. I have followed the dev guide and created the deb packages: I have tried to do this twice now, location here: http://www.kevhal.com/openthinclient/manager-contrib/ When I load these into Openthinclient, all looks good and an icon appears for my users, however there is nothing in the /etc/rdesktop170 directory that it creates so cannot launch. The second point is how do I get extra functions for example, connect to server. the freeRDP I have tried from the post above worked fine. I'm not fantastic at linux but I've obviously mist something somewhere. Many thanks Kevin Halstead Tobias Häcker wrote: Hey, meanwhile rdesktop 1.70 is available which might fix this issue. Re: [openthinclient-user] [Openthinclient-user] rdesktop only passes first three characters of login to Virtual Desktop
Hello Kevin, it is possible to build your own FreeRDP-Package and use the application with openthinclient Manager. In my opinion the current openthinclient OS includes the necessary libraries and gtk to do this. Some help you can find here: http://openthinclient.org/Create+a+new+Application+Package Good luck! Is it a bug as we also use a 2008 server farm and rdesktop6.0 I don't think supports Network Level Authentication (NLA), which is required to pass the credentials to another server in the farm. There is a project which is continuing rdesktop called http://www.freerdp.com/ If this could be installed on OpenThinClient would resolve the issues encountered here. Cheers Kevin Halstead Tobias Häcker wrote: This behaviour seems to be a bug in the rdesktop-svn provided, since we experience the same here sometimes: If the first login to a farm member of the 2008 R2 RD farm fails, the username ist displayed as DOMAIN\use instead of the originally provided DOMAIN\username And a logon fails because rdesktop tries to logon User use. Regards, T. Häcker openthinclient configured to autolaunch rdesktop, which works just fine. The problem I am running into is that after I enter my credentials in the initial RDP screen, it only passes the first 3 characters of my username to the remote desktop, which is an XP virtual desktop.
