Re: [openthinclient-user] network problem with r8169 and localboot

2014-04-09 Thread Stecher, Alexander
Hello Stefan,

the versions Minerva and Ceres are out of support.
We only support them furthermore for customers with a support-contract.

If you need a special driver in this versions, you have to setup a
devolpment-environment and compile the driver in the initrd or the kernel.

New features for Consus will be announced step by step.
If you need some features urgently, please contribute on the following
website:
http://features.openthinclient.org/

Best regards.

Re: [openthinclient-user] network problem with r8169 and localboot

2014-04-01 Thread Stefan Vater
Hello Steffen, hello list,

i took a look at consus (install version, not VM), but compared to V1 there
are missing some things, like local install, disable (not only hide) the
bar at the top.

I don't need exactly something developed, just want the nic to run
(workaround is ok, as when it's workíng it results in an image for this one
hardware type, which will be used).

Maybe someone did already some modifications to the initrd to solve such
problems

Thanks,
Stefan
 .

  Hi Stefan,

there won't be any updates for the 1.x branch of the openthinclient suite
. So please go for version 2.0 aka consus (vm appliance).

 Hello List!

I'm messing around with new hardware. Exactly zotac zbox id86.

When i boot from network everything is fine.

But we also want to deploy boxes with local disks.

If i boot after installing with localinstall, the mashine hangs when trying
to bring up the NIC (Realtek r8169).
 Error messages:
 eth0: unknown chipset
 eth0: link down
 eth0: link is not ready

I attached 2 pics: one if it fails with localboot, the other from a
 successful network boot.

 Thanks in advance
 Stefan
