What does resolution mean in torrent?

2007-09-18 Thread albert griffith
When I look at files I'm downloading one of the settings I see is,
resolution and it's set to five seconds. I've always thought of resolution
as graphical in nature. If this is true, what does five seconds have to do
with anything? thanks

Hey, Trace and list! Well, it's up and running. It's accessible as far as
I can tell, but you have to copy those dang characters every time you have a

days. So, while you're not paying money, your paying in annoyance. Lol!
Nope, there's no such thing as a free lunch!!

RE: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x

2007-09-18 Thread Rick Alfaro
Brett,

I have seen the parameters for the Fading tab but I don't see anything at
all for a true cross fade. By a true cross fade I mean while the last track
is fading out, the next track begins before that last track finishes its
fade out. I don't see how this is accomplished in this dialog so either I
am missing something or our definitions of cross fade are different. If
what I am describing as a cross fade can be accomplished there I sure would
like to know what step I am missing. I can get a fade out with no problem
but the other half of the equation is missing for me. If I am being dense,
then perhaps an MSN chat is in order. (smile)

I haven't had any trouble with the SQL plug-in so far, but just about
everything I have is in either mp3 or Flak. Nevertheless, if this is
possible without the need of a plug-in, I would prefer to go that route.
Thanks for your assistance...

Ok here goes I'll try to be concise.
When you go to the output plugins and configure your current plugin whether
it be waveout.dll or directsound. There is a tab control for fading. There
is an edit box to set fade lenth and all of that. There are also five things

that can be checked or unchecked. Fade on stop, fade on start, fade on seek,

ETC.
You might also have to set your buffer lenth in the buffer tab I'm not sure
about this part but I'm sure someone can correct me.
I know that is not step-by-step but if you need more help I have no problem
having an msn chat or offlist emailing.
Another quick note, the sqr plugin is great but I found it to be buggy
sometimes especially when playing more than one format in a playlist.
hope this helps

Good stuff! Some times it is that one or two degree drop in temperature that
will drain the battery to the point where it just doesn't have enough juice
to do the job. The last thing that you want to do is to put it under your

Re: how to subscribe to a podcast not in the directory

2007-09-18 Thread Susan Wojtecki
John,
Well, the consensus seems to be that all subscription URLs can be entered
into itunes but not vice versa, so to access the latest messages I'd either
have to waste a lot of time dealing with the quirky Itunes interface or
enlist sighted help. Of the messages i am interested in, it turns out that
they are available on CD for purchase, though I think i'll just ask my
sightling son to burn them for me. I did write to them to suggest that they
continue to post the .mp3 links and/or an alternative URL, so hopefully they
will consider that. anyway, it has been an interesting learning experience.

Peace,

susan

 Febuary of this year.
No My Sister in Christ, you aren't doing anything wrong.
The only suggestion that I could give you, is to wright Passter Tim via

 John,
Thanks for trying to help. i'm not sure exactly how to find the URL or
 the
link with the source code or XML or whatever it is. in looking down the
page, the latest messages don't show these. The first I could find was

 export/Pe2bc2de3325e202c5b8393134420b226ZVB4RFREY2V3

is that what it should look like? I'm having trouble searching out these
podcasts in any of the directories, so am not quite sure what i'm doing
wrong. if you'd be willing to go to www.liquidchurch.com and look under
 the
link for recent messages, I think my question would make a bit more
 sense.
 i
think I understand the concept and have a feeling that if i can get this
 one
added i'll actually understand how this is done. Again, thanks very much
 for the help.

Once you find the podcast feed you want to subscribe to, coppy the URL.
Then go in to file minue, then right airol to tules.
Scrole down to whare it says add a feed, press inter on it, and you will
hear Jaws say add a feed, edit.
Paste the URL in right there, and then tab over to the save butten,

 Hi everyone,
i have a question regarding subscribing to a podcast feed not already
 in
 the
directory. The site i am looking at is www.liquidchurch.com which
 offered
.mp3 downloads of the pastor's homilies to 2007, but which now seems to
 only
offer the downloads and/or live stream either through itunes or some
 other
web-based player. This podcast does not seem to be part of the
 Replay-AV
database and I am too new to Juice, (having just downloaded it) to know
 how
to search its entire directory and the specifics involved in adding a
podcast. Can anyone advise me of the most straightforward way to
 subscribe
to the podcast feed with either of these programs? i will probably
 write
 to
the web developers to see whether or not they can continue to add the
 .mp3
feeds with the newer content but was hoping to solve the problem on my
 own.
Needless to say, I don't see access via itunes as remotely possible
 without
sighted help and/or money I do not have spent on scripts which may or
 may
not work well. Hope I have been clear in conveying what I want to
accomplish. Many thanks as always for any suggestions.

2007-09-18 Thread Susan Wojtecki
Mark,
From what I have heard, the interface is supposed to be somewhat more usable
with JAWS than WindowEyes. My experience was that there is obviously some
menu structure which JAWS was able to read, but moving around or clicking on
the desired items was hit and miss at best even with the use of the mouse
cursor. having never used hal, I can't speak directly about its usefulness
with this application but i can't imagine it working much better,
unfortunately. For what it's worth, I would suggest trying to find an app
that is more configurable. i have not heard anyone report real success with
itunes except on a Mac, which lets out most of us. Sorry that this is
probably not what you hoped to hear, lol.

 Dain,
Yes, I would expect that it would be more usable for Mac users, lol,
considering how it was developed in the first place. i've heard one demo
with the new Apple voiceover interface and can see that it might be
 doable
if i had a Mac, but so far I can't even figure out the installation, much
less anything else. From what I gleaned from Brian's website, I'm not
 even
sure whether he is still working on the scripts. He indicated that it
 should
be possible to import podcast feeds to Juice, and since the itunes store
sounds to be only partially accessible I see little reason to fight with
 a
program that is likely to be more frustrating than not, see other
 message.
Glad it is working for you and whoever else, though.

Itunes is a complete music manager, Play MP3's, buy music over the
Internet, subcribe, download and manage podcasts etc.
Is it accessible? Depends on who you talk to I guess. If you own a
Mac then the answer is a definate yes. Having said that though, I'm
aware of many users who use Windows who access the software without
(it seems) too much trouble, I guess its the old saying, if you want
to access something and you sit down for 3 minutes to have a look at
what you're trying to access then its likely that you'll find some
 way around the problem.

Hey, Trace and list! Well, it's up and running. It's accessible as far
 as
I can tell, but you have to copy those dang characters every time you have

days. So, while you're not paying money, your paying in annoyance. Lol!
Nope, there's no such thing as a free lunch!!

You have to tweek the edit field where you see the number 333. that
determines the overlap. I got it to work once at 2033 but there has been no

Hey, Trace and list! Well, it's up and running. It's accessible as far
 as
I can tell, but you have to copy those dang characters every time you
 have
 a
session with them. You also have to sync up your computer with your mp3
player to keep your drm/wma licenses renewed; those licenes die after 30
days. So, while you're not paying money, your paying in annoyance. Lol!
Nope, there's no such thing as a free lunch!!

Once you find the podcast feed you want to subscribe to, coppy the

Then go in to file minue, then right airol to tules.
Scrole down to whare it says add a feed, press inter on it, and you
 will
hear Jaws say add a feed, edit.
Paste the URL in right there, and then tab over to the save butten,
 press
inter on it, and you're all done!
 I hope this helps.

Subject: how to subscribe to a podcast not in the directory

 Hi everyone,
i have a question regarding subscribing to a podcast feed not already
 in
 the
directory. The site i am looking at is www.liquidchurch.com which
 offered
.mp3 downloads of the pastor's homilies to 2007, but which now seems
 to
 only
offer the downloads and/or live stream either through itunes or some
 other
web-based player. This podcast does not seem to be part of the
 Replay-AV
database and I am too new to Juice, (having just downloaded it) to
 know
 how
to search its entire directory and the specifics involved in adding a
podcast. Can anyone advise me of the most straightforward way to
 subscribe
to the podcast feed with either of these programs? i will probably
 write
 to
the web developers to see whether or not they can continue to add the
 .mp3
feeds with the newer content but was hoping to solve the problem on
 my
 own.
Needless to say, I don't see access via itunes as remotely possible
 without
sighted help and/or money I do not have spent on scripts which may or
 may
not work well. Hope I have been clear in conveying what I want to
accomplish. Many thanks as always for any suggestions.

High Albert,
I can remember about 20 years ago Rayovack, if I'm spelling that right, had
batteries like that.
Even thoe they had special rechargers, you could recharge them with any off
the shelf recharger.
I wonder if this is the case with these?

Ok, sounds like you are talking about the new hybrid batteries then and the
price sounds right for those kind of batteries. I agree, the new hybrid

whether or not you need a special charger. Not sure if they can be
recharged on regular NIMH chargers.

Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x

2007-09-18 Thread Brett Boyer
Ok let me see if I can clear this up. In the fading tab there are several
options for fading. These are like checkboxes, you can check and uncheck as
many as you want. The crossfading happens when you have (i believe) fade on
start and fade on and check fade on end of song. At that point you have to
find the fade length that works for you. Yes we are talking about the same
feature. I used sqr for a few years but I started getting frustrated because
it would crash with certain DSP plugins.
You also might want to try typing in google something like how to crossfade
in winamp I have found some of my best technical support from just a google
box
Hope this helps.
if this is still unclear, I have no problem msn chatting.
take care

2007-09-18 Thread Dane Trethowan
Right, well I don't want to sound a little know-it-all on this but to
make an Imic work, all one needs to do is to plug it into a USB port
and it works though on some models you may have difficulty in working
out where the input and output sockets are so be aware of that fact.
I have a couple here as well, one is flatter than the other, on the
flatter one (which nearly resembles a round disc), there is no raised
marking whatever near the sockets to indicate which is which. On the
other? Well you can feel a raised up I next to the in and a raised up
O next to the out.

Ok, well just to put people in the picture here, Imic devices work on
any computer whether that be a Mac or a PC thus the message I
originally sent in reply to tthe question stands, plug an Imic in and
connect it and it will be found by either Windows or Tiger, you may
have to select the Imic of course in your sound settings and that's
regardless of which operating system you're using.
