Re: question

2013-09-03 Thread Clifford Blackwell
Have you changed the usb cable you're using? I find my Plextalk Pocket if
very sensitive to the cable used. If I use USB cables other than the ones
provided with the unit, I generally get the failed to connect error.

Occasionally, I find that making sure the Plextalk is turned on before
connecting rather than turning it on after connecting also makes a
difference.

I've heard of this happening too on more than one Pocket. Not aware of any
fix but I'd be using a card reader anyway. About four times as fast.

Joe do you have an sd card slot in your desktop or an sd card reader? You
could just take the sd card out of your plextalkand hook it up to yourpc.

question

2013-09-03 Thread Joe Bollard
well friends, regarding the card, does not the plextalk only use daisy
format? therefore it wouldn't be possible to do any editing, or would it, i
tried another USB cable, but i still got the same message, and yet, on my
laptop the problem doesn't occur, the laptop seems to accept the plextalk,
but i do all my audio editing on the desktop, i have a couple more USB
cables i'll try tonight, thanks for your help and interest, travel safely,
joe.

JOe if you're recording with the plextalk pocket you're either recording in
mp3 or wav which are standard formats which you can edit using either
goldwave, sound forge, or whatever hyour editing program of choice is.

Joe,
If you have another USB port on your desktop, you could give it a try also.

I know this sounds weird but have you tried a different usb cable? I had
this problem with my bookport. Every other device worked fine with this
particular cable but I had to use a different chord to plug in the bookport.

Question: Does anyone know of a way to copy protect stuff on an mp3 player?

2013-09-03 Thread Alexandra GrĂ¼nauer
Hi all,

I would like to start a school library and hand out audio books to students
that should be on an mp3 player from which the students aren't able to copy
the book to say their computer.

Does anyone of you have an idea how that could be established?

Thanks and take care,
Alexandra
