problems with switch again

2014-11-26 Thread salamander22160
Hi

I am trying to lower the bit rate on a large selection of
mp3 files, I have configured switch to only do the ones that
need doing, I have spent the last 3 days without turning my
pc off over night running switch and I got as far as the
letter thir it was doing them inn alphabetical order, and my
pc froze up, I had to reboot it, I restarted switch but it
insists on going back over loads of files, is there a
program that will do this for me and will continue from
where it left off, I am not starting from the beginning. I
have just tried format factory, I have tried goldwave and
pazara, I am talking about nearly 25 thousand files, I had
nearly finished it. I am using nvda and windows 7.

Regards

Adrien

2014-11-26 Thread Larry Higgins
This may not apply in the least, I am still using
XP, but I noticed absolutely no difference in the
response in the menus after upgrading to the
latest and greatest version. I also admit to
being way behind on my version of WE (7.2), but
remember the days not too long ago when the menus
were totally responsive. Most likely there is
nothing for it but to upgrade and come into the
21st century, and maybe that will soon be in the
offing, but right now, these menus drive me nuts,
and I rather dread having to use them, which
fortunately isn't such a usual occurrence since
most of my recording of late is in background.

 Hi all,

press the up and down arrow keys and it would
take roughly a second after pressing the up and
down arrow keys before each menu item was spoken.

I'm delighted to say that since installing
the first beta of version 9 responsiveness is
very quick and all the sluggishness has gone.
This makes using Total Recorder with
Window-Eyes a far more pleasant experience!

though only 1 year newer, it was way newer in that it had been less used.

Just go onto their web site and click on the Software downloads section,
choose what you want from there whether it be an add-on, Total Recorder
 Standard version etc.

All the controls available on Total Recorder Professional are available for
Total Recorder Video edition, think of it as the Professional version with
Video capturing and recording added in, think the price is around $75.

Actually there’s one question which has come to mind which I need to find out,
I know Total Recorder Professional Edition has “Pre-Recording Buffering”, I
know the “Video” edition has this but does the “Pre-Record Buffering” work for
video as well as audio? Time to research smile..

Dude I just caught on to this. You can do video with it? Does that version

I don’t think its anything to do with Window-Eyes to be totally honest, the
responsiveness problem you outlined was a problem I also experienced with
NVDA and Total Recorder, obviously High Criteria have done something in the
latest release, anyway whatever the slight irritation has gone away though
again it didn’t really worry me all that much as I used keyboard shortcuts to
accomplish what I needed to 99% of the time.

As for different editions of Total Recorder? I too have the Video edit and
wouldn’t be without it though its not installed at the present, I’m just
using the Professional version though the Video version will be installed as
I want to record some video review stuff with my Logitech Camera.

Thanks Dane. For me the menus in the latest version of the Video Pro edition

Other people's experiences may vary but of course all I can do is describe
what my experience has been. Anyway I'm glad the problem I experienced with
 Window-eyes is solved in Window-eyes 9 beta 1!

I think it just uses up to an 8 gb micro sd card, I checked

Hi folks.  Just a quick question about this voice recorder;
in your
experience, will the DM5 handle a 32gig micro SD card? The
manual says I
can use a 16gig but I'm wondering if it will see a 32gig
card. Walter.

Hi thanks for that. Actually, I don't think the mp3 player in the DM5 is up
to much. I have a Nokia 2210 navigator and the player in that phone is by
far superior. Therefore, I might not use the DM5 as a music player but as
it has DAISY capability then that is what I may well use it for. Walter.

Hi

I have never used mine for other than a recorder, it is
great for that, I have not spent much time playing with the
other features. You spend a lot of money but only use a
portion of it.
