Hi everyone.  I've solved this one now.  For anyone who's wondering,
you need to press Shift +F11 and then tab through options which relate
to which folders are used as an initial basis for locating files for
opening and which folder recordings are temporarily stored in while
they're in process.

2016 finishes with a blast!

Yep indeed it does.
I thought I’d left my run far too late to purchase the B MM1 computer 
speakers and had started looking at other alternatives such as the Keff eggs.
A little Google searching pointed me to another well known Hi-Fi shop that had 
stocked the MM1 so I didn’t think there’d be any harm in contacting them to see 
if I might be able to get a pair.
I was in luck, the MM1’s are on sale for $599 Australian, usually $749 so mine 
for the taking or perhaps that should be grasping as I thought I’d never get a 
pair.
I’ve heard the MM1’s often enough of course and I know exactly what they sound 
like.
All I can say is that - if you’re in need of a good set of desktop computer 
speakers - then do what you can to grab yourself a pair of B MM1’s.

VLC Still Refusing To Play DVD

Hello again List:   Hate to keep bothering you guys with this, but have
still not found a solution for my DVD problem!  VLC just won't play it; I've
been into preferences (or what I believe to be "preferences) but nothing
there even makes sense to me!  I don't claim to be the most computer-sabbie
person, so it is quite possible that I am just missing something!  I have
tried to play this DVD with Windows Media to no avail (it'll play a little
bit of it; then stop) I really do want to see this DVD since the group I
work in is in it (it's a show that the band was involved with) but so far,
just am having no luck!  Surely there is some smart person on this list that
can tell me what I need to do in order to make my machine access this DVD!
This particular medium (this list) is the only place where I know to go to
get  help, so if no one can help me here, then I'm SOL, I guess!

Thanks Chris; I actually did look in the VLC preferences, but didn't really
see anything that made a lot of sense to me!  As for making DVDS (I possibly
can settle for just making MP3s if that's what I have to do) but yes; have
heard a lot about DVD Audio Extractor.  What I really would eventually like
to do is to actually make copies of these DVDs that maybe could be shared
with people who do have vision!  But I will definitely keep DVD Audio
Extractor in mind!  Thanks again for your response and input!  Before I do
anything, I need to figure a good way to get these DVDs to play on my
computer!

You might have to configure VLC to play dvd content.I don't have vlc 
on my machine, but usually, a media player has some kind of area in the 
preferences that determines what file types the player will grab, so 
look for something like dvd content or something similar.  For ripping 
dvd audio to mp3, there is absolutely nothing better than DVD audio 
extractor.  It's not a free program, but it works like a charm.
