I had the same experience. I didn't know about this command, but I guess I
don't need to know if it isn't going to work. I'm running OE with JAWS 6.0.

It could be JAWS 6 as I've found a few other things that aren't working
quite right.

Hi, Chris.
I'm using OE6 and f3 is not working for me. When I push it, jaws says the

Thanks!

 Hi Kevin

You're using Eudora, so if you want to find the address of the person who
sends a message to this or any other list, or to you privately, simply go
to the top of your message, and the headers will tell you all kinds of
information. look for the line that says, x-sender, and then you should be
able to figure out the e-mail address from there.
Outlook express users can simply press the f3 key and you can read the
 headers that way.
Hope this helps folks, and many apologies for continuing what has been
flagged an off topic thread. But I felt the information was important so
that people would know better ways of replying privately.

 Subject: Accessible Tuners

 Hi everyone,

I'm throwing this question out there.
Does anyone know if there are any accessible tuners out there used for

helping to tune guitars? I'm playing a lot more these days and it
would be nice to have one of those electronic tuner that will tell me
 if each string
 is in tune.
I know for the regular ones, they have some sort of needle that moves
 if
 one
 is sharp or flat.
I just didn't know if anyone knew of a good one that could be used by
 a
 blind person.
If not, well...I guess it's time to start working on one. LOL Jim PS.
 I
guess this ruins the old stereotype that all blind people have perfect
 pitch, eh?

Another tuner might be the String Master Robotic Tuner. I haven't tried
this one yet, but there was some discussion on the MIDI-Mag site about it.
You can go to http://www.actiontuners.com/

Supposedly this tuner will mount on the tuning key and use a motor mechanism
to tune the string.

Blessings,

Brian

Hi folks,

I don't know if it's gonna be useful to anybody, but I've got a tiny
software guitar tuner. It's 100% accessible, plays strings singly or in
chords, and has a looping option.

I can email it to anybody, if you are interested.

Best regards,

Re: Accessible Tuners

2005-01-30 Thread ron scott
Hi Mate, I would suggest , if the tuner is on a computer, even if it is
accessible, how practical is it?
If we are talking about going out to gig's,?Like you said in a earlier post,
a tuning fork fits in a pocket. LOL
If we are talking electric guitar, there is head phones, with a built in
amp, that will let you hear the guitar, I don't know to what volume, they
seem to be hard to find though, it's mostly steel players that seem to use
them at all but then sighted people can use those quick tune things that
either show a green light, or a red one, or if it's away off no light: or so
I am told. LOL
If anyone is interested, I can give them a couple of places to look for a
amp-head set.

Jim, interesting question, Had the same one myself for a long time.
The only thing I came up with was a tuning fork, then tune out the waves in
relative strings and the octaves.
not as handy as a electronic, and not as easy, especially in a noisy place,
and no I don't have perfect pitch either. LOL

Subject: Accessible Tuners

Hi everyone,

I'm throwing this question out there.
Does anyone know if there are any accessible tuners out there used for
helping to tune guitars? I'm playing a lot more these days and it would
be
nice to have one of those electronic tuner that will tell me if each
string
is in tune.
I know for the regular ones, they have some sort of needle that moves if
one
is sharp or flat.
I just didn't know if anyone knew of a good one that could be used by a
blind person.
If not, well...I guess it's time to start working on one. LOL Jim PS. I
guess this ruins the old stereotype that all blind people have perfect
pitch, eh?

So does this work with a normal audio input , and how does one tell if
the dots are moving with a screen reader??

I HAVE used a free download piece of software which is the same format
as a
very expensive german piano tuning machine which i use and encouraged my

piano tuning students to buy when i was a lecturer in that field. it
has a
free version. my son has downloaded it to his pda and is able to use it
for
tuning pianos. it is called tunelab. i'm not sure of the url. but i
can
get it from my son if you would like. it uses a dotted line like a
strobe.
when it moves right the note is sharp, and when left the note is flat.
the
note is perfectly in tune when the dots are stationary. 19 different
temperaments, stretching etc.
kind regards:
harry
