Re: charging the h800 headset

2014-05-06 Thread Robert Doc Wright
My experience may have have been a one time incidence. I had it plugged
into a power strip and gorgotten to turnit off. When I came back to it the
next morning I could hear nothing. This is what gave me that idea. Just
yesterday, it began beeping to alert me that the batteries were low. I
plugged it in and about twenty minutes later I had to unplug it to go to
another room expecting to hear it begin beeping again but it didnt.

If we can't look at ourselves, and ask, why? then where does the learning
start?

Okay, perhaps I'm miss-understanding something here but I thought someone
mentioned that the headset had to be switched on for charging to take place?
Charging of the battery will take place regardless of the position of the
mode switch - whether the headset is switched off, in 2.4GHZ wireless or in
bluetooth modes -, you might found that the headset charges more quickly if
the mode is set to off.

Yes that's correct, you can talk all day on Skype etc with the headset
connected to a USB power supply and the battery will still charge, this
functionality is not found on all headsets and I can understand why, if
you're charging from a computer's USB connection then you do have a very
limited amount of current available to any USB device so talking on the
headset whilst trying to charge its own battery takes more current than just
charging the battery alone, my Plantronics 995 audio headset wont operate
whilst charging.

actually, there is an opening on the left hand side of the h800. There's a

quarter turn to the left, then let the pannel fall open. You'll then see the

the part you normally hold in your fingers goes in first towards the bottom,
then you lay the stem down so that it is pointing towards the top of the
headset. Then take the cap with the dot pointing at the dot on the headset
then twist right.

actually, there is an opening on the left hand side of the h800. There's
a pannel that you turn a quarter turn to the left, then let the pannel
fall open. You'll then see the battery, and a slot for the nano receiver.

Re: charging the h800 headset

2014-05-01 Thread Dane Trethowan
Okay, to get this all straightened out and this comes from someone who owns a
Logitech H800 headset - that someone is me smile. -.

The Headset has a USB Micro port on the right hand side for charging though it
could possibly be used for other things like firmware updates? That I'm not
sure of but its main purpose is for charging.

You would have received a micro USB plug to standard USB connector lead with
the headset which is for the use of charging the headset, you plug one end into
the headset whilst the other end plugs into a standard USB socket on a

Yes, just be sure that the headset is off. It will allow you to talk while
plugged in but it will not charge while it is still on.

If we can't look at ourselves, and ask, why? then where does the learning
start?

Okay, to get this all straightened out and this comes from someone who owns a
Logitech H800 headset
- that someone is me smile. -.

The Headset has a USB Micro port on the right hand side for charging though it
could possibly be
used for other things like firmware updates? That I'm not sure of but its main
purpose is for
charging.

You would have received a micro USB plug to standard USB connector lead with
the headset which is
for the use of charging the headset, you plug one end into the headset whilst
the other end plugs
into a standard USB socket on a computer, external battery, power supply or
whatever, the voltage is
the same about 5 volts.

Whilst the headset is charging it can be used hence the rather lengthy USB
connecting cable
supplied.

The H800 headset has 2 wireless modes, one is Bluetooth 2.0 - for use with
Smart Phones etc - and
Wireless 2.4GHZ - for use with your computer using the supplied dongle -.

The dongle plugs into a USB socket of your computer and will be recognised by
Windows, Mac etc as a
separate sound device so you can for example configure such software as Skype
to recognise the
microphone of the H800 and the speakers being the H800 headset.

When not in use the dongle stores away in a handy compartment found on the left
hand side of the
headset under a cap, rotate anti clockwise and the cap comes off revealing 2
compartments, one for
the rechargeable lithium ion battery and the other for storage of the dongle,
replace the cap and
turn clockwise, the cap will snap back into place.
