re: Recording from APH cassette recorder to Victor Stream
I bought an attenuator plug from the Shack in hopes of doing just what's described here, and results were awful! The impedances just don't match of something. The Plextalk/Bookport excells at this function, even having a stereo input which the Victor does not. The mic jack on the Stream is pretty useless, in that you dont' have to worry about motor noise on the internal mic anyway. -- To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.--Tom Paine. @maxter61 on twitter. Hi Max, It might work if you turned the attenuater around. -Original Message- From: Max G. Recording from APH cassette recorder to Victor Stream
Hi. I'm trying to record the contents of a cassette from an APH cassette recorder to a Victor Stream. I have a wire connecting the APH's earphone jack to the Stream's input jack. I tried using the APH's out line jack, but the result is a little of the cassette's audio and a lot of static. My question is whether there's a way to reliably set the volume on the APH machine so that the Stream's recording isn't distorted. It seems to be all guesswork. If there's a better way of approaching this task, please let me know. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: Recording from APH cassette recorder to Victor Stream
Adrian, You will need an attenuating patch cord with a 3.5 or 1/8 inch male plug on each end. the jack on the Victor Stream is a microphone jack not an inline jack. - Original Message - From: Adrian Spratt adr...@adrianspratt.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, August 06, 2012 2:12 PM Subject: Recording from APH cassette recorder to Victor Stream Hi. Re: Recording from APH cassette recorder to Victor Stream
First, I would find out if the audio is available as an MP3 file already. Second, is there a reason why you're not using a computer to do the recording?
