PESO - Posed ant

This macro foray is rapidly turning into an entomology project.
The ant is a regular wood ant worker (formica sp.) who strayed into the 
house and died on the living room floor.
As insects often do, it had curled all its legs up underneath. So I had 
to soften it for a while in vinegar before attempting to arrange legs 
and antennae in a more lively pose. Then dry it out, remove debris and 
dust, and then place it on a piece of bark.


Stacked in Zerene Stacker from 300 shots by 645Z with FA-150/2.8 and 
FA-75/2.8 as diopter (ca. 2X magnification). End result is cropped by 
about 50%.

My Cayman GTS comes with a compressor and a can of sealant. You add the 
sealant to the tire, roll the tire a revolution or two and pressurize the 
tire with the compressor. Works for most small punctures.

It's not that special now, it's the remnants of a zaibatsu, which was a 
very Japanese construct, but since those were broken up, it's more like 
the late 19th, early 20th century interlocking directory schemes used to 
get around anti trust legislation in the U.S.  So while the Nikon 
doesn't formally have ties to other Mitsubishi Group companies, it does 
have a pretty good chance of getting support from it's informal partners.

Only thing updated on my web page (so far) in addition to 2010 photos.

I've taken Bill Helsel's (local teacher) advanced photography class 
three times. He ends it by having a photo show. Frame and hang your 
pictures, invite family and friends. This started out small, but the 
last time I did it it had morphed into a school-wide, adult ed 
photography AND art show (the water colorists got jealous).

You are supposed to have a theme. I did this again in 2013. If you read 
my long notes, I felt that my project was essentially a failure. The 
only one I am really fond of us the underwater one. It took 30 plus 
layers to make it work. Each person was on a separate layer.

I have since lightened it up and changed the top layer of water to be 
more matching in color to the lower water. This is the original version.

Anyway, comments welcome. Something different...

Last year I was at a Kia dealership, and was surprised that one car had 
_NO_ spare tire, not even a donut.

I forgot what model that was, - must've been either Sportage, Optima,
or possibly Sorrento or Rio.
