I like the color version better of the two.

If I were doing it in B I’d be tempted to fuss with the curve to give it the
kodalith treatment and reduce it to just lines and shapes.

The color version almost feels like it’s the yellowish sunset light. I’d
experiment with the color balance by setting the white balance off the ramp
rail or the vent louvers. I have no idea whether that would be better or
worse, there is just something that makes my brain itch that it’s a little bit
off.

I will reiterate what has been said that it is wonderful geometry and
composition, and we’re just getting into the fiddlybit differences that
everyone has in the fine tuning.

Re: PESO Only twigs

2020-12-11 Thread Alan C
I find the Oak tree interesting because it is losing its leaves at about
the same time as the one in our garden (a refugee - as far as I know the
only one in Phalaborwa planted in 1968). Because it doesn't get very
cold here it manages to retain its leaves until spring when they
suddenly dry out & fall off only to be replaced almost immediately by
the new ones. Never any acorns because there is no cross-pollination.

Semi-OT: Semiconductor Manufacturer in Japan has a fire

2020-12-11 Thread John

I got this from another list (local camera club):

A semi-conductor suppler for Japanese photography gear makers (Nikon,
Canon, Sony, etc.) has suffered from a three day fire. That means many
components to make cameras, lenses, even hifi equipment will be in short
supply this winter. Do not expect a sale this winter on photography gear
(except for CFexpress Type B cards due to more competition , except for
defunk Lexar).

Don't know if Ricoh/Pentax is is part of the "etc" or not, because he didn't
mention it specifically.

Of course they *never* mention Pentax specifically, so ...

I had to use my phone for this because the K10D doesn't have enough

I'm giving some thought to building or buying them a purpose-made
bumblebee house / nesting box.

Cheers,

As I said in another post, I’m in Novi, Michigan.

It also the home of the Novi special that raced in Indianapolis several years,
under the guidance of Andy Granetelli.

A hearty happy birthday from chilly Michigan. We did get a bit of sun today, so
I ventured out in the yard for a bit. Hope you had a great day!
