I really have too many lenses

2021-04-13 Thread Juan Buhler
I just dropped by my local camera shop.

They often have old lenses for sale, apparently from people who trade them
in.

I got a Mamiya 50/2 M42 and a Vivitar Series 1 200/3.5, for $10 each. The
Vivitar is in t-mount, it came with a Miranda mount but I already have an
M42 for it.

But then I couldn't resist and also picked up a Super-Takumar 150/4 for
$55, This one wasn't quite a bargain, that's basically what you can find
them for on ebay. But it is pristine, with cap, the metal hood and even the
passed sticker still on.

I can stop anytime I want,

Styrofoam coolers aren't quite the same as Styrofoam peanuts that get used

As long as you don't go full circle and get a super expensive cooler, like
a Yeti, which would actually attract thieves. Photo gear would be a bonus :)

Re: hardware problems

We took a run down to Thor’s Well and Perpetua yesterday afternoon. When I’m
at the ocean I prefer to run multiple bodies and not change lenses in process,
and I’ve gotten at least one bad file on a different card, shot on a different
camera, than the ones before. I also had my computer crash while importing
files from Lightroom. I’m pretty sure at this point that the problem has to do
with the computer.

Yeah, sorry, it's fantails again (I'm very fond of them). We had three of them
in our garden this morning. One of them came to check me out. They're quite
tame as people often disturb the insects they feed on. I had to keep stepping

We've had at least one bellbird in the area visiting our garden but they're
very difficult to photograph. They're quite skittish and don't stop moving.
They'd be a similar size to a starling.

I saw one feeding at the bottom of our garden this morning and rushed to get
the camera. This is about all I could get before he flew off. I'll keep
trying...
