Peso: Prince in IR

2023-11-06 Thread John Sessoms
I'm finally beginning to look through the photos I've been taking this
year including the ones from my recent trip.

Starting with something frivolous - my little buddy in IR, in his car
seat on our first day on the road.

I was just messing around with the K20D I had converted. I don't really
have the hang of it yet. Don't really know what's going to make a good
IR subject.

Re: PESO - Prince

2020-05-25 Thread John
Oh no. That was several weeks ago. He might have been upset because I insisted
on combing out all of the tangles at the time. But actually, I think that's just
what his face looks like when he hasn't got so much hair you can't see his face.

All of his hair is about twice as long now as it was then.

He'll get used to this sooner or later.

Our cats don't bat an eyelid for thunderstorms. OTOH they hate fireworks.

the magnifier with this rig even at fairly close range since the
biggest effective stop I can get is f11. The shutter speed was 1/1000.
Handheld of course. Note that only the princely head is above water.

No experiments. But I've shot with it quite a bit in open sunlight at
substantial range where the unaided flash is quite ineffective. It
definitely focuses the beam, so I'm sure that there's quite a bit of
gain over an unaided flash.

lenses longer than 300mm. Which means it will probably work fine with
a 200mm lens (or longer) on the *istD.

Nice shot Paul.

I assume that the Kirk magnifier is the Flash X-Tender?

Nice pic! On my monitor, it could use a bit more
brightness.

Great shot, Paul.

Is there a more versatile photographer on this list? You can shoot
anything, from ad layouts to cars to street stuff to macro to nature.

Amazing.

Thanks Tom. Yep, the Flash X-Tender. I modified mine with a couple of
extra pieces of velcro on the brackets. It's a nice solution for lenses
longer than 300mm. Which means it will probably work fine with a 200mm
lens (or longer) on the *istD.

Hi!

I shot this princely fellow yesterday during a walk in Bloomfield Hills
Nature Center. I used the *istD with the A 400/5.6 with an A2X-S

the magnifier with this rig even at fairly close range since the biggest

Paul, either you missed the focus somehow or the shutter speed wasn't
fast enough even for your mighty handholding... It does not look very
sharp to me...

Though, this Mr Pondscum definitely looks royal to me ;-)... You did
capture ;-) him quite right.
