I think there may have been a bit of camera shake in the dog photo. I kept having to call his name to get him to look at me, and his attention span isn't very long. It's a Promaster EDO AF LD 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 tele-macro (1:2). I noticed some pretty severe fringes at f/4, but otherwise, I feel it's a pretty competent lens for under $200 US. Anyone else had any experience with this lens, and advice on getting the most out of it? And, of course, suggestions, critiques, and inappropriate comments are always welcome. Best, Walt It's almost assuredly a rebadge of the Sigma 70-300 APO, and as such quite a reasonable performer considering its cost. Thanks for the info, Adam. It seems to be really well-built compared to some others I've used and handled. Plenty of resistance in the lens barrel, and a very smooth, crisp responsiveness. I'm pretty pleased with it, construction-wise. And, giving up a stop, and the last 50mm doesn't seem like too much to sacrifice. The look is reminiscent of some Sigmas I've seen, so I suspect you're right.
