[Phono-L] ARSC Conference Slide Show from Steve Ramm

2007-05-11 Thread Peter Fraser
Sounds like it would be nice to see. Any way you can open it up to
the rest of us, non-AOL people?

 Hi All!

I'm posting this on a few boards and listserves so you may get it
 a few
times - Just delete if you got it before - as I didn't want to
 miss anyone who
might be surprised to see their photo (if they were at the
 Conference) or those
who couldn't come. And for my non-phono friends - you'll
 definitely love the
last part. This Mansion is unlike ANY place in the world.

I warn you it's long - it took me hours to had even the short
 captions. But
I wanted to document as much as I could.

I've set it up as a slide show and you can adjust the speed in the
 upper
 right hand corner.

I did have a small rearrangement problem so there are three shots
 from the
Morning at San Fillippo which you'll see near the end - just
 before the record
store I found on Sunday morning.

I think I captured the conference pretty well and will bring
 memories to
 those who could attend.

[Phono-L] ARSC Conference Slide Show from Steve Ramm

2007-05-11 Thread Steve Atkins
Yeah, me too...love to see it, but AOL goes nowhere, after all that creating a
screen name stuff. Tried to create an account twice but still won't let me in.

Or one could save up and probably buy all the phonographs at the the Union
show for the same money!

It does raise the question as to where some people get their idea of prices.
The usual story of peope who have Grandma's Graphophone B and because its

And the answer is.the prospective bidders can't
make up their minds whether to put in a minimum bid,
or use the buy it now feature. I'm still trying to
decide, myself.

Thanks Al,
I'm going to Istanbul this Wednesday--but I'm afraid I won't get much out of
records in Turkish! I thought maybe I'd try to find weird
phonographs--which I seem to be collecting these days. But I was hoping to
get the name of a
phono shop or collector so that I didn't have to wander through all 5480
shops in the Grand Bazaar!

Steve,
Thanks for the slide show. Where were you all eating earlier in the
morning? It looked like Mader's. Did you go to the Safehouse? Some photos
resembled that bar.
