How does one determine where the files are placed? My hotsync software
doesn't give me any options beyond whether to put the file on the
handheld or the memory card.

Personally, I use a USB card rteader, and drop converted Plucker
documents directly into /Palm/Programs/Plucker. Windows sees the card
in the reader as a removeable media drive foramtted FAT16, and I can
use standard Windows functions to add/remove files from the card.

I believe the standard Quick Install tool puts stuff on the card in
/Palm/Launcher. I normally use PInstall, from Envicon.de, a freeware
replacement for Quick Install. PInstall can hotsync to the card, and
let you specify the directory. You can find PInstall at
http://envicon.de/e/pinstall/pinstall.html

To look at the card in the PDA, I recommend FileZ, a free, open source
Palm file manager from http://www.nosleep.net.

appear in the library. But when she puts my memory card into her phone
everything appears as it should.

She copied documents from my card to her phone's memory and when she put
her memory card back in, none of the documents she copied to her phone's
memory were visible.

Any ideas what may be going on?

Where is she placing the Plucker documents on her card?

I believe Plucker looks in /Palm/Programs/Plucker, /Palm/Launcher, and
/Palm/Ebooks. If they aren't in one of those locations, Plucker won't
see them. (I use /Palm/Programs/Plucker, and have no problems.)
