Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
Good Morning Here's the log. What I did: 1. Empty the logfile (with SSOTS) 2. Set logging for CDplayer to debugging 3. Entered a CD 4. Clicked CD player in the Extra menu of Squeezecenter. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
The plugin should have parsed the CD Table of contents unless the user id which runs Squeezecenter has no access to /dev/sg18. Some systems have an audio or cdrom group which is used to prevent non member accessing cdrom devices. Can you also check this point - what is the userid which runs SC and does it have access to the device /dev/sg18 ?. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer 0.9 and favorites
I upgraded to 7.3.3 yesterday and 0.9 of iPlayer yesterday. Since then I get failed to parse on all the LISTEN LIVE stations on the iPlayer. When I check the version of iPlayer on the Boom it shows 0.4 though, although this may be a poissant rouge (i.e. maybe the version number just didn't get changed?). When I check the version number in SC Settings it shows 0.9 ok though. I've also upgraded the radio station timeout parameter to 40 secs, this has made no difference, applied, restarted. Any clues? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer 0.9 and favorites
If the player menu shows 0.4 then you may have two versions installed in different places. I suggest you remove all versions and prove that you can't see the plugin at all (in the player menu or web page), then reinstall. That message normally occurs when the server can't fetch the xml files from the bbc, but lets make sure you have a clean install first. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67151 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Additional info: I just noticed that in the SC menu Advanced/File-types, all files behind CD player are disabled (cannot be changed). Don't know if that is critical in this phase? It is not critical but it hints at permissions/installation issues. Earlier you mentioned that the plugin was in two places - this does not happen by itself or by SC. I think on 0.4 you were listening to the MP3 streams not the AAC. The main point to recent updates to iPlayer was to get access to the better quality AAC streams. To listen to the live stations you do not need iPlayer - just use the WMA URls as provided by menu Internet Radio/ More Radio/ BBC on 7.3 or on 7.4 the BBC app for My Apps. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
Generally it is hard to run the commands manually with the correct set of environment variables which only happen after a login. Using su is not enough - you have to login as the user which runs Sc. The following is a better idea. When a proicess is started, the outout of the fork is saved, processed and then deleted. The following code stops the files being deleted. In Fork.pm - comment out the unlink command which delete the files as follows by adding the #s in col. 1 Code: $log-debug(Deleting Bat and output files . $self-{forkout}); #unlink $self-{forkout}; #if ($self-{batfile}) { unlink $self-{batfile}; } ; Restart SC after code change. After a test the output files of each fork are in the cache directory (/volume1/Squeezecenter/Cache ?) called Forkoutputnn.txt. Check before and after the runs to see which are the new log files. Have a look at the contents to see what messages have been saved. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yet it was the very low-powered feature that attracted me to the NAS - I want something that runs quietly in the background, uses little resources (environmental and system),but yet is fully featured. Low power ain't always a bad thing - it may even be the future. Couldn't there be an option switch in the iPlayer plugin so that the user could choose between AAC and MP3? Or maybe the plugin could choose automatically (if AAC fails then default to MP3) Or is that a lot of work? I'm a big fan of this plugin and it does seem a shame to have to go backwards. I should have taken more time with the replies - reviewing the past log the command that is being executed is 'exec device=/dev/sg18 -verbose-level=toc -N -g -J 2 /volume1/SqueezeCenter/Cache/Forkoutput6.txt' Which clearly shows after exec where it should be the path to cdda2wav e.g. /use/local/bin/cdda2wav. This means SC not just doesn't find cdda2wav but it returns a blank string. Looks like a fault in how SC has been ported to QNAP. In the file Fork.pm Code: my $forkout = File::Spec::Functions::catfile($prefsServer-get('cachedir'),Forkoutput$forkcount.txt); $self-{forkout} = $forkout; my $exec = Slim::Utils::Misc::findbin($command); Change the text in red to the full path to cdda2wav such as my $exec = '/usr/local/bin/cdda2wav'; -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Understood - thanks. I would personally prefer if we had the option to choose streams in future versions - since I generally listen to talk stations (Five Live and Sports Extra) the super fast startup time is of much greater value than slightly better audio quality. The start up time for trascoding is slower on a windows server than a linux one - so suspect you are using windows? If you want to use wma streams for live streaming, then you could also use the BBC streams which are part of the Other radio streams menus which are the wma streams. I will make it so that wma/mp3 is used when aac is not available, if you disable the aac file type this will allow it to fall back to wma, but I was trying to avoid having a settings page for this plugin. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67151 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
I have been waiting for a good power save utility for my SqueezeBox music network since before Logitech bought SlimDevices. It is really nice to see something on the cusp of realization. I am hopeful Logitech will reward the author of this endeavor for the hard work. But for now it is freeware and I can only hope out of the goodness of the collective hearts of those working on PowerSave that you can help me. I have read this entire thread and also http://bitflip.net/slim/. Somewhere reference was made to detailed installation instructions (a readme file), perhaps a link on the SqueezeCenter settings. I can't find the instructions anywhere. What am I missing? On the SC 7.3.3. Web GUI I see PowerSave (v7.0r1) [i] Settings with a hyperlink for Settings, but no instructions. These settings are very basic, namely, [x] Enable PowerSave Set PowerSave Idle Time [15 Minutes] [v] Set PowerSave Activation [PowerSave Always] [v] I understand I need to set up WOL for my SqueezeCenter server to wake after a suspend, and installation of a psshutdown.exe and possibly other changes to my Windows XP system (PATH, etc.) but these details are not clear (especially if they are buried in 10 pages of forum QA). This may be obvious to those of you who read source code and compile your own systems. But for the rest of us, it just ain't so. And I consider myself to be pretty technical, being paid for a career in systems administration and support of 300 server + 5,000 PC user organization. I know the disclaimer that this is beta; but all the more reason for good documentation that is easy to find. Your link and text refer to PowerSave, but you're reading and posting posting in the main thread for SrvrPowerCtrl. Under those circumstances I'm not surprised you find the documentation confusing. There is nothing wrong with trying each of them, although I think it's unlikely you would ever want to run both at the same time. For my needs I prefer SrvrPowerCtrl. Go to the first post in this thread to get the current version of the plugin, which includes some pretty good documentation. Good luck. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I rely on Jason's PowerSave to turn off my Transporter in a timely fashion...say after 15 minutes of inactivity. When PowerSave powers off the transporter, this causes PeterW's PowerCenter plugin to fire off an X10 command which then powers off my amps. This works perfectly for me. The three plugins, SrvrPowerCtrl, PowerSave PowerCenter all seem to mesh together seamlessly. That said, Aubuti, is right about the fact that you seem to be confusing PowerSave with SrvrPowerCtrl. There is a link to SrvrPowerCtrl's post-install setup instructions right on the SrvrPowerCtrl settings page. Or you can take a look at the readme here: http://code.google.com/p/srvrpowerctrl/wiki/Readme In any event, you can use this link: http://srvrpowerctrl.googlecode.com/svn/repo.xml to install SrvrPowerCtrl via the extension downloader. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IT blaster idea

As I already stated there : http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39397 (see attached picture also. Top is IR blaster output, bottom is NAD IR-output jack) the main difference seems to be the inverted start bit ? Hey blah, if you're still around, did you ever find a solution to this? I recently bought the same amp, and would love to be able to use the SB remote to control the power and volume on the amp via the amp's IR input jack. I understand Michael's point about doing it the other way around (controlling amp and SB with the NAD's remote), but like you, I would prefer using the SB remote. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeIR - A Generic Infra-Red Remote Control Applet for the Duet's SBC
Just a quick note to say thanks to indifference_engine for a very cool and useful applet, and to pokersut for doing the hairy trial-and-error of getting it working on a NAD SR6 remote. Following your posts I was able to get it going in very little time. I am looking forward to further development of this applet. Thanks again. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66795 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Bills Jammin Jukebox 2.0
It's great to see that someone finally has developed a platform independent rich client. I'm really looking forward to see the progress of this. I'm getting a warning dialog about podcasts at every startup with this exception in the log: Code: java.lang.NullPointerException at org.bff.slimserver.SlimPodcaster.getPodcastList(Unknown Source) at com.bff.slimserver.musicjukebox.ui.components.podcast.PodcastTree.listAll(Unknown Source) at com.bff.slimserver.musicjukebox.ui.PodcastPanel$9.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Shouldn't the Albums view display as many albums as possible ? On my machine it opens up in full screen and only shows two rows of album covers on each page when it seems like it would fit at least 4 rows of album covers. When I select the Explorer view and select an artist it shows it albums but when I select an album it just seems to hang. My SqueezeCenter server seems be a bit slow at the moment so I'm not sure if it's related to that. At startup I get some errors in the log, I'm not sure if they cause any problems though (I'm using Sun JDK 1.6 on Ubuntu 8.10): Code: (unknown:13818): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to add a widget with type GtkButton to a GtkComboBoxEntry (need an instance of GtkEntry or of a subclass) (unknown:13818): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_realize: assertion `GTK_WIDGET_ANCHORED (widget) || GTK_IS_INVISIBLE (widget)' failed (unknown:13818): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_paint_box: assertion `style-depth == gdk_drawable_get_depth (window)' failed (unknown:13818): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_paint_box: assertion `style-depth == gdk_drawable_get_depth (window)' failed -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67167 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
