If it is possible, I would like to include in the upcoming release uncommitted patch http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=39389. Without this patch HSSF doesn't display extended ASCII characters for symbolic fonts like Symbol or Wingdings. We use such characters in production and it would be good to include this change in the release.
