[Ql-Users] MasterSpy Configuration
Has anyone out there got the top secret list of configuration offsets for the MasterSpy editor executable? I've wasted over an hour trying to change the size of the primary console, but I don't seem to be hitting the right bytes to poke. It's not just a question of overwriting the CON_ definition, there are obviously some bytes to poke for the xpos, ypos, width height. I thought these were at offsets 97,98,101 and 103 (because they matched the original CON definition) but they just seem to be there to deliberately mislead people trying to configure the damn thing without the manual! Re: [Ql-Users] MasterSpy Configuration
OK, I've found secret offsets 167 168, which set the number of rows and columns. The CON definition appears to be a Guardian window for the pointer environment. What I can't find is any way to set the position of the MasterSpy window relative to the Guardian. My manual for this very nice binary-capable editor went missing a long time ago, but wasn't there ever a configuration utility written for it? [Ql-Users] A Landmark Moment for the Ser-USB Driver!
This morning at 10:50 GMT the latest version of the driver, running under a QDOS JM ROM, successfully loaded a file into the MasterSpy editor without crashing. This issue has been bugging me for days, but was finally traced to some errant mode swapping code that allowed an IOSS retry to happen when the process that was being retried hadn't actually surrendered control. Now, all I have to figure out is why an S*BASIC INPUT statement causes a hang under QDOS but not under SMSQ . unless the driver's Asynchronous Read facility is turned on. ;) I'm still planning for a test release mid March, when anyone who has a USBWiz that they can connect is welcome to try it out. Congratulations Adrian. Is this the USBWiz module you are writing the driver for? http://www.crownhill.co.uk/product.php?prod= Best regards, Petri On Sun, Feb 20, 2011 at 1:06 PM, Adrian Ives adr...@acanthis.co.uk wrote: This morning at 10:50 GMT the latest version of the driver, running under a QDOS JM ROM, successfully loaded a file into the MasterSpy editor without crashing. Re: [Ql-Users] A Landmark Moment for the Ser-USB Driver!
Yes, that's the one. You also need some circuitry to translate RS232 to TTL levels. A MAX232 chip and a handful of capacitors is what the Ser-USB prototype uses to do this. If you search on eBay you can often find ready-made RS232/TTL converter modules intended for programming satellite TV boxes. Re: [Ql-Users] A Landmark Moment for the Ser-USB Driver!
I am looking at buying the ISP1160 chips and doing a little PCB that has the USBWiz and TTL level in/out for a short run - would probably not cost much more than the retail price of a USBWiz board to do. I'm just checking it out - no promises, but I am thinking other computers may want/need the exact same thing, so spreading the costs benefits us in the QL community - like the 40FL220 battery adaptor affects a few other computers and systems too - I have already been emailed by someone who is maintaining 70s Siemens automation equipment in a plant in Germany who wants 100. :) Dave On Sun, Feb 20, 2011 at 7:08 AM, Adrian Ives adr...@acanthis.co.uk wrote: Yes, that's the one. [Ql-Users] CST SCSI Interface
Having just looked at this wiki position: Does anybody knows, how CST has handled subdirectories for their CST SCSI Interface in 1986? There were no FS2 in those days, so how? Cheers...Ralf ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
