You can drive a composite display from the Raspberry Pi so any old TV should do not just the fancy HDMI. Support your QL(OK sort of formally QL) trader and get one of my cases. Re: [Ql-Users] The *ins...
email has been hacked... Does anyone have their phone no. to let them know (assuming they don't already?). So sad about all the hacking of late. Computeractive said in a recent issue that millions of passwords had been stolen from LinkedIn, Last FM/Spotify and eHarmony and now it looks like B T inte rnet email possibly hacked too. Couple that with rumours (admittedly only speculation) that what happened to some of the big UK banks in the last week or so was initiated by a hacking or DOS attack prior to the old technology failure officially admitted. Computeractive magazine gave the website address http://leakedin.org for checking if your passwords are on a stolen list. Must be some big scale foreign hacking going on, or we are simply hearing about more incidents, so remember to use STRONG passwords everyone. It's easy to make emails look like they're coming from someone else, but these spammers have obviously gained access to contacts lists within the email accounts. The internet sure as hell ain't the friendly place it used to be years ago! Dilwyn ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

That is about as likely as me winning the lottery... and I never buy tickets. Whoever you are, you truly have no shame. Indeed. Looking at the message source, it is mightily odd with a very complex (but apparently) harmless html part. A very clever hack by someone who hacks into accounts, and reads past emails for relevant details, like being on holiday and where. If I lost my money the last thing I would do is blanket email my friends. The banks and consulate would help. AOL was also hit by an account hacker and I helped one victim last week, ironically, to move to BTinternet. The moral here is secure passwords, and change regularly. Secure ones are like Ge4?pP9a . I must say I have never owned an old TV with such a socket (normally phono). The point I was making was that most modern LCD TVs have both hdmi (and composite video) and USB sockets, so only a mouse and keyboard are then needed (powered off the TV via the Pi). Note the USB socket is a mini one - smaller than the connector on cameras and the like. Like firewire, there are a plethora of connectors. Use a Phono to SCART lead since SCART has RGB/Composite etc etc etc. You could use certain QL monitors even ;) If you have a Wii in the house I think the Scart adaptor will work.
