Ball's in your court...! ;-) a smug John in Wales (Who [thinks] he knows the correct answer) but Q-uality L-ighting helps. Actually, for once in my life, that wasn't me (I think it was George Gwilt???)! Although there is one particular incident from my past which proves you do need a light when stationary (or rather your car does). Several years ago I got a fixed penalty fine for parking facing the wrong way at night in Caernarfon. :o( How many know that's a driving offence here? OK, technically you're not driving at the time, but... So, John, your next task is to write a QL program to interface to a car and GPS etc (once Adrian finishes his USBWiz gizmo) to warn the driver of offences imminently about to be caused - there, back on topic :-) Dilwyn Jones ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Bob said - . and lights are mandatory in the UK . Only between sunset and sunrise. The rest of the time you may ride without them (fitted). Got a fixed dynamo myself - you never know when some beautiful girl might temp you to stay out late to help her with her QLing, with or without spaces in your output. And, I thought, Tony does it in 'sheds' or is that too obvious?! John in Wales ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

What - to check out your Hardware, John? ;-) Remember the QL Today cartoon, where two girls were talking and one exclaimed that When he invited me back to his place to see his hardware, I didn't realise he meant his QL, his Aurora, etc etc) And I think there was once a picture in IQLR of Tony (as editor Bob Dyl put it): Oops, Tony Firshman caught dangling his Minerva Mk2 in public! :- Which I think allows me to say Tony Firshman does it with his Minerva Mk2 And, I thought, Tony does it in 'sheds' or is that too obvious?! Yes, very good...how many sheds does he have by now ??? Seven. and I think my dangling Minerva in public is a fertile imagination on someone's part. I don't remember seeing that picture. It was a really sad end to IQLR. Bob closed the publication just after he had received advanced payment for my year's ads (and others I think). He must have been in real trouble. Has anyone heard from him since? Bob Spelten wrote, on 04/11/2010 12:09: snip Two types of bikes have become more popular in the Netherlands over the last few years. One is a normal model but has a battery and electric motor to help the 'elderly' biker. The other is a 'ligfiets' (lay bike?), Recumbent a long model usually lower than the X-1, where you lie on your back and have the pedals in front of you. These go faster with less effort then normal bikes. Sinclair seems to have married the two. Yes - it is like a recumbent with a roof. I would expect that stopping power and lights are mandatory in the UK as they are over here. (X-1) I have to agree, he's invented a poor excuse for a bike and managed to get it to fit inside an egg shell. Surprise, surprise! Check this out! http://www.sinclair-research.co.uk That looks quite dangerous actually. No lights or mirrors so what use is it on the road, shame the Video didn't show the poor driver trying to change from one lane into another, or perhaps that bit was edited out, including the Ambulance ride to AE. Now, the folding bike looks better but I'm guessing it'd take just the one decent sized pot hole to throw the rider. Back to the drawing board Sir Clive It does say that lights are built in.
