The docs will be the same as Qmailtoaster. I do add a few extra
features in there that should be apparent by using the command
iso-help or reading the wiki pages (no, I have not updated the wiki
page for the newest version yet - give me a few days, I have a
kitchen to finish remodeling)
Ah, I forgot to put QMT-ISO step-by-step / screenshots installation
guide QMT-ISO on the wiki (but I think QMT-ISO installation should be
easy...)
anyway how can I upload jpeg to wiki? or I should upload it to another
hosting?

The wiki does't take uploads right now. Give me a couple days and I'll
look at enabling this feature - otherwise I'll make a FTP drop available
that you can hot-link pictures to.

Thanks.

Re: [qmailtoaster] QMT-ISO 1.3.1 released

2007-09-23 Thread bb.
Thanks,

Yesterday and this morning i tried to install QMT-ISO
but gave error; installed the OS on harddisk but could
not boot, gave CentOS boot error on first boot and
never boots up.

But mean while i remembered that (Am i wrong?):

Programmer of qmail does not permit to publish his
program in BINARY. So is QMT-ISO legal, different, has
source codes and builds in first boot, what?

Now i will try the old script install, if God permits,
would be long but better, maybe...

The ISO has copies of Qmail on it in source RPM, and builds them when
you install it. Nothing different than what you do with my or anyone
else's install scripts.
Do you have to pass kernel or grub parameters when you normally install?
I have only heard of 2 other people having install issues and it ended
up being oddball hardware that caused problems with Linux in general.

Re: [qmailtoaster] QMT-ISO 1.3.1 released

2007-09-22 Thread bb.
Hi List,

As i see, documention is VERY important. I am using
qmailtoaster over a year and want (need) to update.

Download CentOS, make fresh os install, install
qmailtoaster via script and config it: seems easy way,

becuase i do not know how to do with QMT-ISO.

Now i am downloading QMT-ISO, then what to do? On CD
boot if i see a CentOS install screen, what to do
after install and on first boot? Will qmailctl stat
work in very first command?

Where is the guide, install.txt, etc, on site or on
CD?

Or let me choose script way instead of ISO?

Thanks to God and to good helpers...

QMT-ISO 1.3.1 has been released. The biggest
 change was to include the
latest CentOS packages, but there are a few other
 bug fixes and
enhancements included as well. Hope you don't
 mind Pakogah, but I've
been using your QMT-ISO wiki page

 as a place
to see where improvements needs to be made and
 where to add features.

No Problem Jake, glad if you find it usefull
 (from community to community)

Anyway, here's the highlights from the changelog:

  version 1.3.1 - 09/21/2007
  Added script to install webmin-1.350-1
 from RPMFIND
  Added a colorized multitail.conf
Added cwatchall to watch all mail logs in
 color
Added updated packages for CentOS and QMT,
 also trimmed
the packages some and made the ISO about 7M
 smaller
Changed the time servers to my time
 servers for initial
sync and turned ntpd on at boot-up
Fixed the DomainKeys issue since the link
 has not been
removed in the packages yet - we now do it the
 hard way
Fixed bug with firewall not being loaded
Updated installation so that it does not
 download QTP
unless there is a network connection/new version
Added scripts to change hostname and set
 DNS servers
Fixed typo with the advanced kickstart
 file that caused it
  to not load.
Fixed multitail to stop giving errors
 about maillog

 Congratulations,
I will test QMT-ISO 1.3.1 and finishing the manual
 while modifying it, to
make it relevance / up to date

I was only able to test the install on 1 machine
 and mainly only some of
the new features - my other 2 devel machines are
 tied up in another
project at the moment, so let me know if you have
 any issues with it.
  Enjoy!

QMT-ISO is an installation CD. When you boot off of it and hit enter at
the first screen it will go through and format your hard drive. It will
then install Qmailtoaster for you. That is stated on the site. It is
meant for people installing Qmailtoaster for the first time that want
everything done for them - no need to download the packages and run an
installation script. It's included in the ISO.
