Re: [Red5] idea of the week end: Red5 + Processing

2007-06-01 Thread Paulina F.
Hello Clement,

I think that the about red5 and Processing is interesting, and adding
the resources that Processing its able.
Time ago i thought about to make some mixed work or experience
between both or more sources; but i am new almost in all about
programming.
I am artist too, and curious respect to make some experiences based in
the sources that we can to find.
I think its possible and a good source integration.

Probably I cant to response your question.
But i guess that a source integration could be a new work for to resolve.

Regards.

 hello list

I think it's my first post here, although I've been here for a few month.
I'm back from Web Flash Festival in Paris, where I and two
net.artists(Annie Abrahams Nicolas Frespech) presented a performance
 which uses
simple video streaming with OpenLaszlo and Red5.
I've been working with Red5 for a little while, now, always for media arts
 projects.

The Web Flash Festival, although its name and the fact that it is funded by
Adobe (among others), invited Douglas Elric Stanley for a presentation of
 Processing (http://processing.net).
It is a very interresting development environnement for artists, based on
Java, and able to produce applications or Java Applets for the web.
Lots of artists (including me) really enjoy processing, because it's at the
same time really simple, and very customizable and extendable (lots of very
powerful third party libraries already exists), and it has lots of very
useful features for artists, that Flash doesn't have (OpenGL, sound
 synthesis, video analysis/detection, ...).
But lots of artists (including me) keep working with Flash mainly for its
 video streaming possibilities.

As Red5 is Java based as well, and Processing already has a few video
possibilities (mainly based on Quicktime), I was wondering if it was
possible to build a Processing package that would enable the use of
Processing together with Red5, for video streaming, and maybe convenient
stuff like Shared Objects and so on.

I have very few knowledge in Java development, but I and maybe others would
be very interrested in any resource that could help doing this.
I know, also, that there would be lots of licence issues around such a
project (uses of RTMP, AMF, FLV, ...) that could possibly make it totally
 impossible, but ...

 what do you think ?

Hi Lenny,

I check again your test. I am in Santiago, Chile (Dynamic IP). with =
608.2 kbps.

I can see a good test. The first test = John Grden's FLVPlayer.html
Was very optimal. But in the second test = Nathan Johansen's flvdemo player.html
I could saw some freeze in the FLV start.

Wow, thanks alot Dan it's ok now after increasing the keepAliveInterval to
 100

I am now able to view Lenny's stream successfully though it's abit jerky.

Also, not only can I stream from our low upload bandwidth server, but I can
now stream to a CDMA dial-up phone without it disconnecting. National
Treasure is clean, it's almost playing without rebuffering.

Thanks alot Dan, this has been bugging me alot.

Bizarre how is the buffer lengths holding up now though, they are

Re: [Red5] About red5 and Mac

2007-03-20 Thread Paulina F.
Hello Adam,

Very thanks for your response, and now I am looking the solution.

For me really, its a bit tired, and sometimes i feel some regret to
try to make things without the needed knowledge... But i will try and
try. (I know that someday will result).

About the ports, somebody told me that my port 1935 (in the web
server) is closed, yesterday I tried to talk with the service, and
they said that they cant to open the port for security reasons...
And is other problem more...
I will try to obtain other hosting or service for to make my test instead.

But... ok... I will try with the help that you bring me now, and very
thanks again.

When one have tired after test and test, this is a great support.

Very thanks!

Regards.

Thanks Thijs for your response,

What file or folder?, or I need to put the full folder in the remote server?.
And the other question, is how I start red5 in the remote server?
I know how to start in local machine.
