Re: {S-Scale List} NWSL Stanton Drive

2013-10-12 Thread Jim Cheryl Martin
Hi Dave. I can't speak for the Stanton but the Black Beetle is still around,
being produced by Steam Era Models in Victoria. I ordered a power and a dummy
bogie (as they're called Downunder) for a future locomotive project. Even
without any weight on it, it runs like silk. You can get it in S with a variety
of wheel sizes and wheel bases.. Check steameramodels.com

Cheers
Jim Martin

as seen on page 37 of October 2013 RMC. Has anyone tried adopting this to S
scale for a gas-car or RDC- car use. Does this supersede the Black Beetle
 available in the past.

Gary: It is quite simple. Offer to pay for the tooling and you should get the
parts.

This is the response I received from Dave Rygmyr of NorthWest Short Line (NWSL)
regarding their Stanton Drive.

Hi Gary,

If we get enough interest, we plan to do it. We've made some out of the HO
units already but the longest wheelbase we can make is 7'6, and of course the
HO housing needs some shimming to get the coupler height right. We'll see what
kind of interest we get. Thanks!

  Dave,

I am interested in the Stanton Drive.  Are you planning on making them
for standard S gauge?
