RE: CSLugols burn

2013-12-13 Thread Silvia Messmer
Were you taking companion nutrients while you were taking the trans dermal
iodine? Your body needs the companion nutrients while taking any form of
iodine, that's when people can run into trouble. BTW my mother-in-law got
thyroid nodules and never took iodine so it does not neccessarily mean the
nodules were caused by the iodine. Some doctors just look for something to
blame instead of looking for the real reason.

Regarding iodine burning the skin. There are people that are alergic to
iodine. Did you have itching as well? It can also be that the Lugol's you
used was too strong for your fragile skin and maybe a lower concentration
would help your skin not to burn. Yes, as we age our skin gets thinner and
more fragile than when we were younger. You can try diluting it by half or
more with water but apply it to a different area until the skin is well
healed.

Be well.

I had an on-and-off low thyroid for years. I would paint the iodine on my
skin on my arm and it would disappear in minutes so I started painting it
over my throat. One of my practitioners decided I needed to have an
ultrasound and the nodules showed up. I was told they were probably from
painting the iodine over my throat.
If you haven't had an ultrasound you might want to talk to your practitioner
about getting one before you start painting the iodine on your throat...
especially if you are having a reaction.
Good luck.

Thanks Silvia,

I didn't know I could dilute it, thanks for that. No itching, just felt like a

water okay to dilute with or do I have to use distilled?

Re: CSLugols burn

2013-12-13 Thread dAVId
Silvia is dead on, I make a lot of iodine, it is composed of potassium
iodide and iodide salt. Normally mixed
half iodide, and 2x potassium iodide. It is the amount of iodide that your
iodine contains that burns the skin and causes it to peel like a sunburn.
Iodide is very unstable and will suck up all the potassium in your skin to
be stable. That again dries it out and it peels. I most likely will leave
this world wondering why we bother mixing the two ingredients to make
iodine, as the iodide will immediately grab potassium and then it becomes
potassium iodide. I take iodine orally
and feel certain the iodide grabs potassium atoms within moments of
reaching the stomach and it instantly turns to potassium iodide. I think
Dr. Lugol who invented iodine which he put on cuts etc to disinfect had
good results with iodide in killing germs. david lubbock tx.

No, I never could find a good explanation. It seems like you should LOSE
weight. I did find where one of the drs who promotes the use of lugols said
that one of his pts gained weight and he put her on Optivite vitamins and she
lost it.(sorry, can't remember his name) But I found a post on curezone of a
woman who gained 30 lbs on it. I just couldn't keep going. I'd worked too
hard to get my weight off and keep it off. I was seriously bummed about
it--about the weight and about not being able to take lugols.

Lugol's was often used in the treatment of gout and was used as a first

...not so bad really. the way it reads appears that end users aren't
limited in what they can buy or responsible for record keeping. it's the
sellers that must limit non-trackable transactions to amounts under the
limits, ie lugols at 30ml can be sold one per transaction without any
recordkeeping, but if a customer wants more than one per transaction, or a
16oz bottle at walmart (the 4th element of the axis of evil), the seller can
sell it but must get positive i.d. and keep records of the transaction.
since the lugols at walmart is a special order, of course that will include
contact info, and when picked up they'll probably want to see a picture i.d.
that backs the contact info supplied for their records.

at least that's how i read it...did i miss something?

Looks like its the end of access to OTC Lugols as it has 10% iodine. Is
it really sold at Walmart? Feds are raising - anything that has 2.2% or
higher iodine content to Level 1 controlled substance. This.is most
troubling.

, also known as Lugol's solution, first made in 1829, is a solution of
iodine named after the French physician J.G.A. Lugol. Lugol's iodine
solution is often used as an antiseptic and disinfectant, a starch
indicator, to replenish iodine deficiency, to protect the thyroid gland from
radioactive materials (e.g. fallout), and for emergency disinfection of
drinking water.[1]
Lugol's was often used in the treatment of gout and was used as a first
line treatment for hypothyroidism in adults.
It consists of 10% iodine (I2) and 10% potassium iodide (KI) in 80%
distilled water with a total iodine content of 130 mg/mL. Potassium iodide
makes the iodine water soluble through the formation of the I3- ion. It is
obtained from chemists and pharmacists who are licensed to prepare and
dispense the solution.

Hi, Tel,

I have a great respect for the products of the late altcancer.com, and
know that what you way is true: there was nothing wrong with their
products, nor were they dangerous. Cancema is a fine product and I
have recommended it to many friends.

My question was rhetorical, intended to make a point about the survival
of the company selling products that are supposedly the same as those
from altcancer.com.

J.B.
The products were not faulty, nor dangerous, They were JUST not
approved by the Lobby of Drug Co.s who control  the FDA  lab mice who
live there.
The Indians in my state of South Dakota used the blood root salve for
many years, before anyone else ever sold it.  Most old timers, and
ranchers had access to it in the 30's and 40's,  It gained popularity
in the 50's. Was sold at Wall Drug

I just bought a 16oz bottle of Lugol's from JCrows ($55). According many folks
on the www.curezone.com iodine forum they are a good source to buy from.
