Ooo ok sorry Stefan, but pretty sure MR only uses .map files in that way, 
otherwise you set the mipmap options and it does it on the fly.

So with arnold we use exr files, and I was wondering if mental ray would use 
those textures too like it would use *.map

Hi All,

I'm not even sure I dare to ask. Would exr files works just as well as map 
files when rendering with mental ray? It would be pretty awesome if I could use 
the same textures that I generate with maketx to also be used in mental ray. I 
don't have anything to test right now, so I thought I would shoot the question 
out there.
