Re: [Talk-GB] Edinburgh/Glasgow meetup
Counting Hosue at 7, Sounds good to me. How will we identify each other? The SLUG folks normally have a cuddly penguin - how about a pile of burning Landranger maps? :-) I've a couple of copies of sheet 50 I think. Anyone got a lighter? I'll try and be there for just after 7. Meet in the family area to the left of the main entrance as you are going in (same place as scotlug does(!)). I've put my contact details on wiki: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/WikiProject_Scotland Maybe add yourself if you are hoping to be there...? -- Callum ___ Talk-GB mailing list Talk-GB@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk-gb
Re: [Talk-GB] Edinburgh/Glasgow meetup
Sounds great. Which pub? Which city? :-) Keith. PS. I vote Glasgow, but I can probably stretch to Edinburgh. Due to a Scotlug celebration on the 28th Feb, it will be Monday 25th Feb instead, unless there is major opposition. The majority vote at the moment is to have the meetup in Glasgow. I'll let someone else decide the exact venue, since you'll probably know more than me about good pubs in Glasgow. Glasgow and the 25th sounds good. May I propose (a slightly unoriginal choice of ) Counting House on George Square; it's central, close to train station for Edinburgh folks, and cheap. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=55.861lon=-4.252zoom=17layers=B0FT As for mapping - Glasgow city center is mostly mapped in terms of streets but doesn't have too many POIs; so if you want to do some mapping before hand maybe grab some on the way there I've put a page up at: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/WikiProject_Scotland And linked off the current events on the Main_Page -- Callum ___ Talk-GB mailing list Talk-GB@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk-gb

I'm currently thinking of sometime in the next ~fortnight as it is a more local meetup, rather than a larger one. Sorry if I'm moving things forward a bit too fast. I had meant to say the Thursday 28th Feb (this gives people with a busy schedule 2 weeks notice) , we could arrange to do a few hours of mapping and then meet in a pub at 8 or 9? Sounds great.
