Tested with official stable TheBat! 4.1.11 on MS WinXP Home SP2 italian

 3. When I start up TB, these numbers are around 52 MB.

It says 43.572 KB

 4. Hit Ctrl+R (Reply) on a message. At me, the memory and VM use goes
up to 130-140 MB in like 2-3 seconds.

It says 45.356 KB, after half minute. No increase here.

Once more replying to myself to say, that it doesn't seem to have
anything to do with *new* filters, but with the re-filter function in
general. I moved some messages from this very list's folder to the
inbox manually and re-filtering did nothing, although the filter had
correctly moved them to their folder when I received them.

hmm not here. I even added the beep to the actions, just to see, but
re-filtering the inbox, according to the log, only triggers the last
filter in the row without executing it and nothing else.

I'll test it on my notebook with Win2k when I find the time. But since

Cannot confirm this on WinXP, too.

I cannot confirm the scrolling problems on XP SP3, but I think the
error might be in the routine that changes the size of the text
 boxes when typing text.

Yep, I noticed this annoying behavior sometimes, too. Maybe you should

Memory leak?

2009-02-04 Thread Vili
So, as I wrote earlier, my VM runs up when reply to a mail. I managed
to track down to the Reply template.

So, if my reply template is empty, %BLANK, replying a mail will not
really increase the VM size.

BUT: if I have a simple

%QUOTES
%CURSOR

Vili

reply template, then replying to a 3-line mail increases my VM to like
65 MB. If I reply to a longer one (6 lines), it is 69 MB.

AND, it never goes back to the original 3x MB. It just increases and
increases...

Confirmation, idea to fix? Maybe some component they make up runtime
is not destroyed/freed when they close the editor window?

I don't see this problem here now, but it reminds me of a similar
situation that occurred to me a few years ago. As I learned from 9Val,
the responsible RIT programmer for the sorting office at that time, I
had *too* many conditions in a filter, and the result resembled your
image. The solution then was to use an addressbook group instead of
adding each email address to the filter conditions.

So, a lot of conditions in a filter can be bad, maybe even worse when
nested. ;)

Agree to that.

Conclusion: This is an issue that has to be solved. Soon.

Re[2]: Dramatic increase in VM use

2009-02-04 Thread Kertész Vilmos

Try to close and open a reply again.

What I see with Process Explorer is that Thread ID 2812 starts up and
is not finished when start to reply to a mail and close that window.
If I clear my Quick Templates, I have to do this process twice in
order to have large VM use.

There is a memory leak here...
