Voyager: refiltering with new filters doesn't work (was: Voyager: new filters and new filter conditions don't work)
Hi all, on Tue, 3 Feb 2009 21:25:25 +0100GMT I wrote: PM I created a couple of new filters for incoming messages and added PM OR conditions to existing ones. The new filters do work for new incoming messages, but they don't work for existing messages when I refilter the inbox. According to the filter log all messages are processed by the last filter in the row, but they are not treated according to that filter (which I wouldn't want anyway), but nothing happens. -- Cheers Peter The Bat! Once more replying to myself to say, that it doesn't seem to have anything to do with *new* filters, but with the re-filter function in general. I moved some messages from this very list's folder to the inbox manually and re-filtering did nothing, although the filter had correctly moved them to their folder when I received them. -- Cheers Peter The Bat! Test machine: MS Windows XP Home SP2 italian with Voyager 4.1.11.1 1) I've a message in Inbox with subject Linux day - 25 ottobre 2) in Sorting Office I create a new filter named Test with condition Subject contains Linux and action Play Sound (Beep using PC Speaker) 3) right click on Inbox and I select Re-Filter, then I check the mark on Incoming mail for Rule sets to apply, finally I press OK 4) I ear a bep :-) Well, I also tested a filter that moves messages... Everything it's ok here Ciao -- Mackley Current beta is 4.1.11.2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi Mackley, on Wed, 4 Feb 2009 19:11:03 +0100GMT (04.02.2009, 19:11 +0200GMT here), you wrote: M Test machine: MS Windows XP Home SP2 italian with Voyager 4.1.11.1 M 1) I've a message in Inbox with subject Linux day - 25 ottobre M 2) in Sorting Office I create a new filter named Test with M condition Subject contains Linux and action Play Sound (Beep using M PC Speaker) M 3) right click on Inbox and I select Re-Filter, then I check the M mark on Incoming mail for Rule sets to apply, finally I press OK M 4) I ear a bep :-) M Well, I also tested a filter that moves messages... M Everything it's ok here hmm not here. I even added the beep to the actions, just to see, but re-filtering the inbox, according to the log, only triggers the last filter in the row without executing it and nothing else. I'll test it on my notebook with Win2k when I find the time. But since you are running XP as well... Or is it the service pack? SP3 here. :? -- Cheers Peter The Bat!
