Copying and backing up the Address Book

2013-05-13 Thread Leonard S. Berkowitz
(I am already using TheBat's backup facility, and about a year ago, I
had to restore from the backup file.)

Now, I am interested in being able to copy or export the Address Book
so that I can view it outside of TheBat. This copy/export effort,
secondarily, would offer me the possibility of backing up the Address
Book separately. Is there any way to do that?

Thanks.

In the Address Book -
File - Export to - Address List (Plain Text)
This produces a .txt file of the address book

If you wish to copy only a selection:
Select the addresses you want in the usual way with Shift - Mouse left
click or Control = Mouse left click
Then
File - Export to - Export Selection - In the save As box, choose
Address Lists (Plain Text)

You can choose other formats from the available list.

Now that I know how to perform this export, I see that the resulting
list is not in the same order as my address book. (I did a plain text
export, not a comma separated version that I can load into Excel and
resort.)

I suppose that, appearances to the contrary, my address book is not
sorted the way it came out in the .txt version. On what field should I
resort the Address Book so that the export looks like the Address
Book?

Thanks

Re: Invalid ssl certificate

2013-05-13 Thread Jack
Hi,

J Yes, that is possible. But it was happening with many sites and all at
J once. Plus, in the ten years or so of using TB, it never happened
J before so it seems unlikely. Fortunately, the suggestion to switch to
J the other cert has resolved it.

TF I am using avast! anti-virus. An update a few weeks ago caused this
TF problem (or something similar) for all accounts using TSL or SSL.

TF The solution offered here works for me. If you are using avast!, that
TF might have been the reason at your end too.

Yes, that is most likely the case. I had all sorts of problems after
the last avast upgrade. I mentioned this one to the tech working on
the problems and he said the email problems were due to TB and not
avast, which is why I posted here. But that is obviously not the case
and given that I still have problems with my system a month after the
upgrade and they have not been able to fix them, it doesn't surprise
me. Thanks for mentioning it.
