On another computer that I do not use frequently, there is still a 5.x version

Is it possible to directly install a 9.x version of The Bat! over the 5.x

Customized Icon Lost

2020-05-08 Thread Mark Partous

Hello Bats,

I went from TB!8 to TB!9 and have lost a customized Icon for "Reply To All With
Selection".

It's been a long time since I had that configured and I do not know how I did
it.

I tried Add or Remove Buttons/Customize, but got stuck there.

First off, I don't find "reply to all with selection", except for a toolbar I
don't seem to be able to add anything at all.

Is this still possible in version 9.

Seriously, such a problem can be very annoying, I had a problem with a QT

AS Bad idea. You never know what tools like this do or do not remove,
AS what may or may not belong to the program you're working on.

I suppose you haven't used Revo Uninstaller yet.

1) First it creates a system restore point before uninstalling a program
2) Then it uses the program's own uninstall (if any)
3) After that it offers the possibility to search the registry for any
leftovers,
lists them and leaves the user the choice wether he wants to remove any of
these (all individually selectable)
4) Finally it can search for any left over files and folders. Once again it is
up to the user to decide wether he wants
to delete them or not (none are selected automatically, as is the case for
the registry items in point 3 and the user
   can skip steps 3 and 4) (x)

I use Revo Uninstaller Pro for a couple of years now and it isn't longer
than yesterday that I was very happy to have
it. I bought an upgrade for OmniPage 18 (coming from 17). The installer kept
saying that an earlier version was still on
my computer and had to be removed before I could install version 18. It
seems to be a known problem since Nuance has
created a tool specifically to remove earlier versions. Well, Nuance's tool
wasn't able to do the job.

I thought it had to do with PaperPort (which has a Omipage-dll of it's
own) and PDF Converter/Creator from the same
company that are installed too. At last, I used Search Everything to find
any leftover files/folders with OmniPage in
their name and removed those with Revo through the right mouse-click
context-menu. These appeared to be left-overs from
pre-OmniPage 15 versions and if I would simply have deleted those files,
there would still have been left-overs in the
Registry.

Oh well, everyone has to decide for him/herself wether or not to use Revo
Uninstaller (Pro), but this is not the kind of
tool that does things without leaving the user the choice (as many
competitors do).

(x) When removing TB! nothing isn't removed that TB! itself would not remove
during phase 1.
But TB! did not remove everything from the either.

BTW: the trick you suggested (renaming (or removing) thebat.exe did not work
for me when trying to go back to 4.

Start another account's TB

2011-03-04 Thread Mark Partous

Hello Bats,

Is it possible, in Windows XP, to open TB, installed in account X,
from within account Y, so that all changes
(new messages, changes to settings etc.) are actually being registered in
account X, without affecting the non-opened TB
in account Y?

I hope that doesn't sound too complicated. The actual problem is (for as long
as she hasn't got her new PC) that now, my
wife has to close down my account, open hers, then close that one and start
mine again [er actually: she 'forgets' to
close hers down leaving the next steps to me :-) ].

Switching to an account, without closing one, has never worked here, on any
XP: when trying to switch back XP always
freezes, leaving no choice but a hard reboot. Always wondered why that
feature works in the free Ubuntu, but not in XP
pro? Haven't tried it in 7, but that would not solve my problem (yet).

Needless to say I would have seen his replies much earlier if I would have

Copy TB structure to Voyager

2007-11-30 Thread Mark Partous

Hello Bats,

Two questions:

1) Is it possible to copy my TB! setup (accounts, folders, rules...) without
coying the messages themselves. (did not see this possiblity in Back-Up)

2) If I were to collect mail with Voyager, leaving the messages on the

I think you mistakenly consider .3 to be the same as .30 and thus a more

Perhaps you would have expected 3.99.3 to be named 3.99.03?

If it is of any consolation: you're not the only one to be 'deceived'! :-)

JH In the Control Panel is 'Internet Options'. That has the tab 'Programs'.
JH Go there and look what's set as email program. I bet it's Outbook Perplex.

I think it's a wrong bet. Going back to 3.99.3 will probably solve the
problem.

Whith focus on the heading of the set of rules where you want the new
rule to reside:

Edit, Paste or simply
Ctrl-V

Not that it has caught anything yet.

When pasted, I get a rule saying:
Message Source match -+[0-9]+\r\n(?:[a-zA-Z\-]+:
[^\r]+\r\n)+(?:\r\n){1,}-+[0-9]+\r\n(?:[a-zA-Z\-]+: [^\r]+\r\n)*Content-Type:

and an action: Set memo.

In Mailbag Assistant, you open your TB! files, choose which messages you want
to archive, then copy them to a Mailbag (archive) file.

I think it is clear I was not using the word archiving as in compression
