Any suggestion on how to delete attachment files unassociated with any
 mail?

In Options - Files Directories...

there's an option - delete attachments when message removed from trash - or
words to that effect. I guess that would do it for the future cases...

But if you mean messages now and in the past - h... don't know.

Hi Roman,
I believe you can do a backup from within TB! and check store attachments with
msg. If you then delete your current installation and reinstall using your
backup all attachments without an email msg should be gone.

I should say I have not tried this myself :( so do this at your own risk.

I would suggest maybe a few different backups?

Roman,
I agree with you there but I hope this is just a one of exercise for you. After
this you should select delete attachment when msg is deleted (_ or similar
wording)

where do you keep your attachments? mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks, I should have mentioned that I have that checked. However,
it doesn't seem to work with messages that are directly deleted from
a folder without going to the trash bin first. I have my spam
folders set up so that deleting messages from them doesn't move them
to the trash folder but deletes them completely right away.

Perhaps you found a bug. See if it works if the messages are first
moved to the Trash. Then, submit a bug report.

where do you keep your attachments?

2004-12-15 Thread Roman Katzer
Hi Batters,

After reinstalling Windows XP, I set TB to keep its attachments in the
message bodies. Now however, my backups get very large. My backup is
through a shell script that compresses TB's mail folders.
If I set TB to keep attachments in a separate directory, after a while I
have a large number of .msg-Files there that are mostly left over from
Spam that was sorted into my Spam folder and automatically deleted after a
while. I can't tell .msg-files that are Spam from those I want to keep
unless I open them up and look at them one by one.

Any suggestion on how to delete attachment files unassociated with any
mail?

Regards,
Roman

There are two attachements. The signature is message.att. You don't see
that with v2. part.txt is the list footer.
