[Tex-music] Success! (was RE: Uploading to IMSLP?????)

2021-12-28 Thread dsimons
The IMSLP cabal has accepted my 3 Telemann editions exactly as I uploaded them,
with 3 files on one page called “Scores (3)”

https://imslp.org/wiki/6_Concerts_et_6_Suites_(Telemann,_Georg_Philipp)

I did manage to add the WIMA attribution to the Misc. notes for that page.

If my editions, containing score+parts, are appropriately located on the
“Scores” page, it sure seems to me that the 6 editions now on the “Arrangements
and Transcriptions” page should also be on the “Scores” page. Exactly like my
editions, each of them is simply a typeset with appropriate editing of one of
GPT’s pieces using one of his 4 recommended combinations of instruments, in
that case using just the flute, violin, and B.C. parts (while mine used the
flute and harpsichord parts). Like mine, each file has a score and parts.
Unlike mine, the score does include a written out continuo part, but aside from
that, they’re just typeset directly from GPT’s facsimiles of 3 of the 4 parts.
They are NOT arrangements or transcriptions, because they haven’t changed the
original. My 2 cents.

Re: [Tex-music] Indentation

2021-12-28 Thread dsimons
Thanks, Hiroaki. That works, and seems to have the same effect in this case
as simply replacing \contpiece with \startpiece: preserves the key change
warning before the page turn, properly indents the second page, and resets
the bar numbering. Are you saying there is something different?

Thanks, Christian. I find the IMSLP upload process incredibly complicated and
not at all intuitive. I'm crossing my fingers that the site editors will create
extra pages and move things around like they want. If and when that happens, or
if they send me explicit instructions about what to do and how to do it, I'll
go back and mark them as part of the WIMA collection.

An example on distributing single pieces from a collection to separate
IMSLP work pages could be 'Newe Weinacht Liedlein mit 4 und 8 Stimmen'
by Leonard Schröter

https://imslp.org/wiki/Newe_Weinacht_Liedlein_mit_4_und_8_Stimmen_(Schr%C3%B6ter%2C_Leonhard)

If you select the menu item 'Page->Edit' you can see how to create
references from the collection work page to the work pages of the single
pieces.

I encourage marking PMX/MusiXTeX editions like this as members of
IMSLP's Werner Icking Collection. You do that by adding the IMSLP template

{{WIMAProject}}

to the 'Misc. Notes' field

Re: [Tex-music] Uploading to IMSLP?????

2021-12-28 Thread Bob Tennent
IMSLP may decide that the score+parts for the individual concerts should be
located in separate pages as they are not really organized as a
"collection". But then there should be links to those concert pages in the
General Information section. An arrangement of Concert 1 (TWV 42:D6) is
already linked that way.
