Just to let everyone know, lest the list become inundated with offers to
help, I agreed to help Ashley install Linux on her box. An HP laptop
running XP, luckily there's already a partition set up for Linux. I'm
sure any links to beginner's Linux information would be helpful though,
so anyone who knows of some good tutorials should post them. It might
also be useful to compile this list to be added to the website.

Desktops with Win 9x are pretty easy to install, but laptops with win
2k
or XP are more difficult. If it is using NTFS, partition magic will be
required to resize the windows partition. If there is a FAT 32
(Windows 9x
partition) on the machine it can be resized for a Linux install with
the
tools on the install cd. I have ISO images shared at
//linux_box/mandrake
