[Bug 760807] [NEW] »Installed on« and others sometimes show untranslated
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: software-center To reproduce: 1. Open Software-Center 2. Open »Installed software« 3. Click on »Details« for any application 4. You can see the string »Installed on« translated in your language 5. Go back and click »Details« for another application 6. From now on you don't see the string mentioned above localised anymore but you only see the original English string until you restart Software-Center Therefore, the string mentioned above and some others (e.g. »Add %s to the launcher«) appear untranslated almost all the time, although they are actually translated. I tried this with current Natty in a VM for the German translation. [Bug 760814] [NEW] Compiz Very Slow and Choppy in Natty Classic
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz Graphical effects on the Ubuntu Classic desktop with effects (compiz) are very slow and choppy. This includes opening and minimizing windows, moving windows, and more. Even applications feel overall sluggish. glxgears reports favorable framerates, but the animation barely moves. This has been reproduced with versions 270.30 and 270.41 Nvidia drivers. This problem was not present in Maverick. Disabling compiz by selecting Ubuntu Classic (no effects) at login also resolves the problem, but then there are no effects. Toggling vsync in both compiz and nvidia settings has no effect. [Bug 692444] Re: clicking trash multiple times opens multiple instances of it.
I've been looking into this, and at the moment the trash file manager is launched with a g_app_info_launch_default_for_uri(TRASH_URI, NULL, error) call. I don't think it is possible to detect whether or not a handler for the 'trash://' uri has already been launched. So it just starts up a new nautilus window every time. A possible work round would be to simply have a desktop file called 'trash.desktop' with the trashcan icon, that had a line in it 'Exec: nautilus 'trash://'. That way the application would only be launched once as it would be just a normal app icon rather than something special cased. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/692444 Title: clicking trash multiple times opens multiple instances of it. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 387828] Re: ALT+TAB with compiz shows really ugly icons for minimized windows
Braindumping here. In theory to follow the EWMH, applications should just set larger icon sizes in _NET_WM_ICON. It's not that hard to do and saves us the pain of application matching. In reality, applications are stupid and for the O cycle it would be best to overload GLWindow::getIcon with another method provided by some kind of bamficon plugin to get the icon and display a nicer hi-res one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387828 Title: ALT+TAB with compiz shows really ugly icons for minimized windows -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 757972] Re: Easystroke doesn't recognize button release
Reverting 81fbb96c54f78a7cd96433294ee003c7ef6a772a (9d23459415b84606ee4f38bb2d19054c432c8552 on master) fixes the issue. The change calls the new ReleaseButtonsAndKeys() function in AttachDevice(). This makes sense when you are wanting to float a device. However, activating a passive grab on a slave device also floats the device. In this case, ReleaseButtonsAndKeys() is interfering with the passive grab. I will coordinate with upstream on how to fix this issue since reverting the change will just cause a different bug to reappear. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Chase Douglas (chasedouglas) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/757972 Title: Easystroke doesn't recognize button release -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 712974] Re: Impossible to properly translate ubiquity due to usage of $medium variable
We, the German translators, have done the same as Milo did. It's just a workaround. We have translated the string as if it was written in this way: You can try ${RELEASE} directly from this storage medium (${MEDIUM}), without making any changes to your computer. Sie können ${RELEASE} direkt von diesem Speichermedium (${MEDIUM}) ausprobieren, ohne dass etwas an Ihrem Rechner verändert wird. I'd like to see this string split into two strings (one for USB and one for CD-ROM), too. At the moment, we can live with this workaround of using a 'general' word like 'storage medium' and then using brackets () to clarify which medium it is. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New = Opinion ** Changed in: ubuntu-translations Status: New = Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/712974 Title: Impossible to properly translate ubiquity due to usage of $medium variable -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
