[Bug 890781] Re: urlsnarff segfault
This is solved in 2.4b1+debian-21.1 (upstream, pangolin). The package is nearly identical, and urlsnarf is seriously broken in debian-21. Recommend backporting. (The bug is that the pcap-file and live-capture logic are reversed, so running a live-capture looks for a pcap file and crashes, and using a pcap file tries to do a live capture). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/890781 Title: urlsnarff segfault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dsniff/+bug/890781/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 893259] Re: Asus Aspire freezes install CDs 11.10 and 12.04
Ciao Fabio, Thank you for replying. I had meant to update: Unable to fix the problem, I returned the computer to the store and got an identical Acer [not Asus] 722-0490. This time I put the battery in before installing Ubuntu 11.10. It worked. The only problem I have had since is that it was freezing while attempting to use the wireless when on battery power. This I was able to fix, by a method I now can't find again by googling. Some change in a script that's called when the computer is unplugged. Which is a long way of saying I can't attach my kern.log or dmesg. [Bug 873545] Re: No GTK theme applied on login / theme lost after gnome-settings-daemon error.
Comment #40 explains and fixes the problem. The clipboard manager integrated in gnome-settings-daemon doesn't work correctly. When an application (like Opera or Skype) closes, it tries to get the clipboard content of those applications and crashes. Knowing this I could reproduce the crash any time. Open Skype, copy something, close Skype, crash. Disabling g-s-d's integrated clipboard-manager stops the crashes. If you need a clipboard manager you can try popular options like Parcellite or Diodon. I'll update title and description with this information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873545 Title: No GTK theme applied on login / theme lost after gnome-settings-daemon error. [Bug 776860] Re: boost thread.hpp does not compile with -std=c++0x (Natty's gcc is not a supported compiler of Natty's boost)
I am running Kubuntu 11.10 and that bug is still present. I see the importance still set to Undecided. May I suggest to set it to a quite high level? C++11 is now officially through, having -std=c++0x or -std=c++11 is getting more and more common, having GCC fail on BOOST on recent *buntu platforms is not good. [Bug 882274] Re: Community engagement is broken
Well, I have followed this lively debate and it seems somewhat unproductive. We users must accept that the design is not going to go our way. Won't fix is a somewhat hard wording. Maybe something like, we won't do it, because we do not have the ressources, please do it yourself or find someone who does it for you - maybe something like that would have smothered the flames (pun intended). I find it extremely pleasing that the lead designers actually do talk with the community. I don't remember any windows designer talking back to me... So we just can't expect Mark and canonical to cater to each and everyone's needs. I would like to say a few words from a user point of view to the two bugs that were linked to the original bug report. 1. option to configure Unity launcher placement I really don't know any reason whatsoever, why users can't get used to the placement of the launcher. So now its on the left hand side instead of the bottom, so what? Is this impossible to learn? The user testing performed by Charline Poirier seems to suggest that new users have no problems adapting to the placement. In my mind this wish is merely fueled by habituation and nothing else. So in this sense I think Mark Shuttleworth's reasoning is completely justified. Don't waste any resources on this. Try to fix the real bugs. 2. What I do miss in Natty ... is the possibility to click on the app. icon on the Unity launcher bar to minimize all windows of that application, not only to launch/restore it. Mark has explained, why he doesn't want to implement this feature. It would appear inconsistent if the same button would at the same time display and hide an application. So he thinks that new usability issues would emerge if this were implemented. Point taken and he is probably right. But, in this case one should ask: What does he really want to accomplish? He wants to display the desktop in a fast and simple way. At the moment, you either have to minimize all windows - which can be cumbersome - or use nautilus - somewhat unintuitive - or switch the workspace - also a little strange. Yes, it can be done, but these are all workarounds. A fast and intuitive way to display the desktop would be welcome. [Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
Thank you Alexia. As I understand it this is a workaround for the bug which would enable Gimp to work in Oneiric and has a very low chance of causing regressions in Gimp. All Ubuntu would need to do is add this patch to their Gimp package to disable the history buffer and release it as an update. I quickly slapped your link into a patch form so that Launchpad janitor would be aware a patch has been submitted.
