[Bug 1819543] Re: Does not exit correctly, have to "kill -9

2020-11-08 Thread Ricardo Gabriel da Silva Brunne Valle
Affects me on Kubuntu 20.04 in multiple machines. If I close the app via
the "X" button AND it is playing some media file it gets stuck and I
need to give a "killall -9 vlc" command. It closes just fine if I stop
the media before closing with the "X" button. If I quit the app with
CTRL+Q or with the close command in the "media" menu it exits just fine
even if media is playing. Starting the app via command line, panel or by
clicking on a file seems to have no effect on this behavior.

[Bug 1849542] Re: Thunderbird empty after update to 19.10 - corrupted global-messages-db.sqlite

2020-04-23 Thread sergio valle
I applied the same workaround and it works.
I've to tell you that upgrade is not the true reason.
It happened to my UbuntuStudio 16.04 with Thunderbird 68.7.0 (64bit) and I've
not upgrade anything.
Yesterday night Thunderbird worked as always ... this morning had the issue.
Thanks a lot for the workaround indeed

[Bug 1406428] Re: Dell XPS L502X Freezes

2015-01-04 Thread Sergio Del Valle
I updated the BIOS as pointed, and was working fine, but after a while
it froze again. Here's the output of the command supplied:

A12
09/07/2012

I didn't reboot the laptop this time, just switched to a terminal
session, with Ctrl + Alt + F2, and then switched back to the GUI
session, and this was enough to get the system responding again.

[Bug 864735] Re: [ATI HDMI] HDMI Audio Disabled by Default (since oneiric)

2012-10-26 Thread Gian-Luigi Valle
This is a big problem in Quantal because the ATI driver doesn't support
the new kernel as well as it causing the display to rollback leading
to the gnome classic look. The audio also doesn't work (for me) with
the driver installed. Not sure if the same happens Unity.

Re: [Bug 785226] Re: Evolution 2.32.2, NO ACCESS TO MY AGENDA

2011-06-24 Thread Tulio Valle Hernandez
Answers:
1. Yes, I suppose it is reproducible.
2. Steps are as follows:
- Open Evolution 2.32.2 .(my version is in Spanish).
- Menu Archivos (Files), click Importar (Import). A new window appears
(Evolution import assistant). Click Adelante (Next).
- Choose Importar un unico archivo (import one single file). Click
Adelante (Next).
- Locate the file to import (the file .pst is in my external HD). File
type is Outlook personal folders (.pst). Click Adelante (Next).
- Destination directory is automatically named Contactos_1. I choose to
import only Libreta de direcciones (agenda). Click Adelante (Next).
- Then click Aplicar (Apply).

And nothing happens.

Enclosed, you will find the file that I want to import (please note that
this is a confidential file).

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
 better. Please answer these questions:
 1. Is this reproducible?
 2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as
 detailed as possible.
This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Please also attach a pst
so we can test with it, thanks.

Please excuse the late response.

 * I don't use LDAP (as far as I know)
 * I use NFS + NIS (client)

As far as I see everything works fine after the upgrade. As I use
evolution for emails postfix is probably not used on my client computer.
Seems that /etc/postfix has not been created.

[Bug 339025] [NEW] latest kernels made generic flash drives stop working

2009-03-06 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
Public bug reported:

Some time ago I bought a kingston pen drive that I discovered to be a
generic crap, but at least it worked initially. Now appears that with
the latest kernels it stopped working.

Any genuine usb devices that I have works including a genuine kingston
flash drive. The only one that is not working is this generic one.

Seems that for some reason the kernel is picking the wrong driver, I
don't have sure how this works or if for those generic drives any
workaround is needed, but it seems it is not working anymore.

I don't have sure with which update this happened, neither if its really
a kernel issue, but its recent as 2 months ago when I last tested it
worked.

Regards.

Thanks for the last tip, Im using the desktop ISO booting from a pen

Appears just to be a problem with the partitions already being mounted

Re: [Bug 157050] Re: octave2.9-forge don't works in Gutsy!

2007-10-30 Thread Marcos Eduardo Valle
Hi,

I instaled the candidate version 2006.07.09+dfsg1-5 using apt-get install.
As I stated before, it didn't work.
I solved the problem manually installing the desired pkgs using the tar.gz's
available at octave-forge's page.
However, I think it would be interesting to have the new version at the
repositories!

Sincerely,
Marcos Eduardo Valle

[Bug 157050] octave2.9-forge don't works in Gutsy!

2007-10-25 Thread Marcos Eduardo Valle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: octave2.9-forge

Hi,

I had upgraded from feisty to gutsy today and had noticed that some
commands do not work in octave2.9. For example, I tried to call the help
of imread function in octave2.9-forge and got the following answer:

help imread

help: `imread' not found
Additional help for built-in functions and operators is
available in the on-line version of the manual. Use the command
`doc topic' to search the manual index.

Help and information about Octave is also available on the WWW
at http://www.octave.org and via the [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I believe that octave is not able to find the functions in
octave2.9-forge. I tried to reinstall the octave2.9 package as well as
the octave2.9-forge but it did not solve the problem.

Furthermore, I would like to point out that the package octave2.9-forge
is not up to date in the repositories. Namely, there exists a more
recent version for example at the Debian respositories. Namely,
octave2.9-forge (2006.07.09+dfsg1-8).

Sincerely,
Marcos Eduardo Valle

[Bug 107688] [apport] kdeinit crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-04-19 Thread Macario Valle
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdelibs

It is doing it during boot, at least that is when I see the report. I
do not boot very often, so it might have been something old.

[Bug 66978] Re: Us_intl keyboard doesnt generate ç for brazilian portuguese locale using UTF-8

2006-10-20 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
The right-hand Windows key works fine, and you are right, Compose , c
generates ç in my keyboard too. And the last part too, Im used to type these
characters without the compose key. Like that:
' e = é
~ a = ã
' u = ú
' c = ç

So the difference is that until now Im used to type ' c to generate ç
and it doesn't work anymore (in X 'c generates ç too).

[Bug 66978] Us_intl keyboard doesnt generate ç for brazilian portuguese locale using UTF-8

2006-10-19 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: console-setup

After a lot of problems with accents using UTF-8 on the console in Dapper Drake
(Bug 19487), console-tools fixed almost all of them.
I have a us_intl keyboard and when use it with a pt_BR.UTF-8 locale I can't
type a ç, '+c doesnt generate that character, this is the only character that
I found that doesnt work.

** Affects: console-setup (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 19487] Re: Accentuated keys not working on text-mode console, portuguese keyboard

2006-10-19 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
Tested in Edgy, almost all characters works now in exception of ç
(only with us_intl keyboards), opened a new bug report for the console-
setup package which is used now in turn of console-data (Bug 66978).

[Bug 66978] Re: Us_intl keyboard doesnt generate ç for brazilian portuguese locale using UTF-8

2006-10-19 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
in /etc/default/console-setup

XKBMODEL=pc105
XKBLAYOUT=us
XKBVARIANT=alt-intl (with intl the behavior is the same)
XKBOPTIONS=lv3:ralt_switch,compose:rwin

These options was changed and tested using dkg-reconfigure console-
setup and reloaded with /etc/init.d/console-setup restart

Appears to be correct.

[Bug 19487] Re: Accentuated keys not working on text-mode console, portuguese keyboard

2006-09-28 Thread Edmundo Valle Neto
Again.
This bug remains in Dapper Drake and for servers without graphical interface is
impossible to use pt_BR.UTF-8 and be able to type accentuated characters at the
console. Changing the LANG variable to pt_BR using the ISO-8859-1 charset works.
