Another problem similar to this one. The standard key combination to switch the input method is Alt + Space, and HUD appears when it shouldn't. [Bug 969506] [NEW] ipv6 resets wifi connection
Public bug reported: After the last NetworkManager update in Precise, wifi connection resets after setting the password, so there is like 10 seconds of connection, and afterwards it resets and a dialog asks to enter the password again. Disabling IPv6 for this connection solved the problem. I think the false positives are really a critical problem for Unity. I would be glad if someone within the Unity team would shed light about plans to fix this in 12.04. Changing the layout of buttons is wrong. Not only because Canonical doesn't control Chrome development, but because you have to change a lot of applications to fix an Unity problem. Better heuristics is another one, but Xorg doesn't have good support this and it's a lot of work. Don't need even to switch workspaces now to lost focus. Just open terminal, open chrome, alt-tab to terminal, and focus is lost. Constantine Mark: Yes, i've tried the top-left corner invocation. It avoids the problem i mentioned before, but... it's slow and i prefer the current left edge invocation. I also prefer to have all the left edge invoke the launcher, and top-left is not intuitive for new users. If it has to be top-left corner invocation, 11.04 original top-left corner movement is better i think. For left edge invocation, problems like the back button one needs to be addressed. I like left edge invocation over top-left, but false positives make it fairly unusable. This particular problem is really annoying for me, but surely other users have hit different false positives. Hi, i'm also having this problem. I was using hangul input in 11.10 without problems. But today i was trying to write some hangul in a message and noticed this space problem. As the bug reporter says, an unwanted space is added before the last typed hangul character, making it very difficult to type in hangul :(. No wonder that Unity Ubuntu would not conquer the desktop in asian countries anytime soon. You cannot write with it :(. First you released an Unity in 11.04 without CJK support. A now you release an Unity 11.10 with CJK support, but support for Hangul in ubuntu is broken (see above bug). I'm not attacking Unity. I like Unity. But because i like it and because is such an important piece of software to Ubuntu, i wonder what good has brought so much haste? This happens in 11.10 too. Calls to gtk_window_set_title don't update the window title as it should. Instead, a additional window operation is needed (resize, maximize, etc.) to see the updated window title. How to reproduce it: I'm using the sakura terminal emulator to trigger it. There's an option to set the window title. If you look at the source, it's just a call to gtk_window_set_title with the new string. Nothing changes. Only after resizing, maximixing, etc. the window the title changes. One thing is for sure. They wrote in big letters support for Asian languages in Unity for the 11.10 release. But it seems nobody in Canonical did some basic testing with korean. A now we have a broken 11.10 for korean. And no fixes. For me this bug should be categorized as Critical, but, what do i know? Still in Undecided state and nobody cares. It's listed in the context menu. But the bug i reported is that is not listed in Properties-Open With. Older nautilus versions allowed to define a custom command, this one doesn't. Please read the previous messages. Unsetting IBUS_ENABLE_SYNC_MODE solve the problem in some applications and some configurations. It doesn't seem to be deterministic at all. I confirm this bug (no japanese fonts in pdf) gets solved installing poppler-data. So it seems the fix consists in adding a new dependency to evince and/or japanese localization packages. A simple fix, yet this bug has been opened 2 years. In 9.10, i still need to install poppler-data manually (and got no hints of why there is no fonts in the document, only if you lauch evince from a console, you will see there are missing font errors) Please, fix it. Ubuntu should stop treating japanese, chinese, korean, etc. like second class citizens. Just look at some bugs in 9.10: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1317694. This is not professional and gives Ubuntu a very bad image. Anyway now i have a new one, WiFi password is being reseted (not saved in the file?) after each reboot and i have to type it each time.
