Managing of expire date in a sale order

2011-02-16 Thread Pierre TALLOTTE

Hi,

In Ofbiz, I saw it's possible to sell products which are expired. I
would like to know if it's possible to consider the expire date in a sale.
It can be interesting too to configure a number of days between a
shipment and the expire date of a product depending a supplier (and a
product).

Is it possible to do that in Ofbiz ?

Thanks.

Re: Managing of expire date in a sale order

2011-02-16 Thread Pierre TALLOTTE

Sorry, I meant depending a customer, not a supplier.

I use front page to created non ofbiz pages then integrated them

I also use the content manager which you can plow through.

2011-02-16 Thread BJ Freeman
if you are a end user you will need to hire a consultant that is
familiar with ofbiz to do this for you.
if your are a developer you will need to understand how ofbiz works and
develop your own how-to.

click in the documentation link on the main page of ofbiz.
going through the videos would give you a good overview.

Re: possible work in the future

2011-02-16 Thread BJ Freeman

similar in that knowing ofbiz is a plus.
different in that a different approach to certain things:
1)like labels are not field names but more directed to the end users way
of doing things.

2)Navigation is more end user friendly and intuitive.
3)projects will be ofbiz centric but for different vertical markets.
3)holding to what I perceive is the basic design criteria that got me to
use ofbiz.
4) use of a expanded version of the the project manager to define the
work to be done. meeting or exceeding agreed to times guarantees
current or next level up wages on next project, missing agreed to
times will reduce the wages on next project.

this will all be addressed once the funding is available.

Just to clarify, I am not in competition with ofbiz.
I am a business man that uses ofbiz as a core for what I provide my
customers.
ofbiz, from my client point of view, is not a selling point, the
solution is.

Re: more than one unit of measue fo the same product: advice requested.

2011-02-16 Thread Pierre TALLOTTE

Hi,

I tried to create a product who can be sale/purchase in another unit. I
followed you said and it doesn't work : I can't choose my alternative
package.

Example :
 - I have a bottle of water who is a finished good and variant flag on
yes. In quantity included, I chose 1 Liter.
 - For the alternative package, I have a box of bottles (a six-pack) who is
a finished good too and variant virtual flags on yes. The measures
are the same than the bottle and, in Shipping, I chose 6 in pieces
included. I made the association Alternative package with the bottle
product.

Now, when I purchase a box of bottles, I have the specific screen for the
variant product who I can choose my bottle of water, but the conversion is
not made ; I can't choose the quantity I want (a six-pack in this case).

Can you help me ?

Thanks.

Thanks for replying I figured it out.
I updated from svn (svn up) but did not reload the seed data. (./ant

For good measure I also flushed the cache from webtools.
I am sort of new and on this particular test I am trying to set everything
up without loading the demo data.
Hope to start contributing soon.
