Not true: you got one reply. See

Not to worry, problem is now fixed.

If you solve a problem yourself, it's probably courteous to the list
to explain the solution, not to keep it a secret.

[libreoffice-users] Missing Images in LO [Solved]

2017-06-03 Thread gordon cooper

I posted this two days ago and had no replies. Not to worry,
problem is now fixed.

Gordon

"This issue has just appeared. For about 12 months, one of my
regular tasks in LO has been to paste html technical documents
into Libre Office, where images are scaled, text edited
and formatted before exporting to pdf, or on-forwarding to
our translation team.

This week, images from the html files are missing from the
Libre Office paste, but they re-appear in the pdf files. Instead
of images, LO is displaying empty frames with a line of text
showing the image file name. A right click on an image frame
brings up a menu with access to Properties. Select the image
Tab in Properties and the correct image is displayed, I can not
get it display in the LO document.

I can resize the empty image frames in LO so that the final
pdfs are correct. The lack of LO images is preventing the
forwarding of files for translation.

Operating System:  MX-Linux Version 16;

Libre Office: Version: 5.2.2.2.0+
   Build ID: 1:5.2.2~rc2-2~bpo8+1

Have tried all the apparent options without success.

Thanks,
Gordon Cooper"

Re: [libreoffice-users] re: Libre Office - 5.3.3

2017-06-03 Thread Girvin Herr

zahra,

Yes, I use Slackware Linux exclusively on all of my computers. I was
surprised there is a LO 5.2.7.2 released. I was not expecting that, so
I have not been keeping up. I will download it as soon as I can.
Thanks for mentioning it.

I normally use OpenOffice (AOO) for most of my work, since there are
some bugs in LibreOffice (LO) since 4.x that I find frustrating.
Mainly, that it does not restore my last session properly, where AOO
still does. However, AOO no longer bundles the Base Report Generator in
their package and LO still does. So I keep LO installed for my
quarterly database reports that I generate. Other than that. LO and AOO
are interchangeable to me.

That's what worked for me.

also how can someone use navigator in 5.3

View > Navigator, or press F5 (the shortcut shown next to that option
on the view menu). It's also one of the options on the sidebar.

and for me who i use 5.2,
how can i go to a specific page?

I don't have a copy of 5.2 around to check, but I'd assume it would be
similar to either 5.1 or 5.3.

I am running 5.2.6.2 on Slackware Linux. F5 brings up the Navigator
dialog. At the top is a window to enter a page number, then press Enter
and it will go to that page.
