You are not supposed to be able to, that's the point in having passwords in
the first place (as somebody already mentioned).

What instructions? Who told you that?

Yes, exactly. That's the point in having passwords. You are not supposed to
be able to open a password protected document without the password. That's
what password protection is for.

You can do that only if you know the password. It's called security.

I think there are software out there that can do it, but unless your
passwords is really stupid, it will take quite a while. Maybe days, maybe
even years. It depends on a lot of things, I guess. I think there was a
discussion about this a couple of years ago, maybe you could search the
archives for that thread. Or maybe that was discussed in the LibreOffice
mailing list, I don't remember.

Pictures and most other files usually don't get through when sending email
to this list, so we can't see them. You can either upload it somewhere and
give us a link or just give us the necessary information here:
What does the formula look like?
What are the values in all cells referred to in the formula?
What value do you expect from the formula?
What value did you actually get from the formula?

We are only users like you (I'm actually not even that these days, but I
still hang out here), so you are our customer just as much as we are your
customer.
Oh, and I hope you didn't buy this product, since it's free (in more than
one way) if you download it from
http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html.

If you actually paid for it, you might have paid for some kind of support.
If that's the case, maybe you should ask your question to whom you paid.

Hallo Patrick,

The same as you open your safe when you forgot the code.

It will not let me make a new copy. The instructions are to open the document
and save a copy of it to begin editing it. But, I cannot do that the document
will not open without a password. I cannot save a new copy it has to be open
before I can save and rename it.

If it is that easy what is the benefit of having a password set anyway?

How do I get the password off? Who do I go to for help.

Please send your questions to users@openoffice.apache.org we’re volunteers
helping other users to the best of our (limited) knowledge.
The picture you send me can’t be seen by others, hence you limit the number of
users who can help you.
And again the picture shows only the output not the underlying data and
formulas.

First of all a difference between MSExcel and OpenOffice is not a bug it’s just
a
difference and that’s what you should expect as OpenOffice is not a copy of
MSExcel.

> Please Check that and update it to me.

Secondly we can only check the difference if you tell us where you have uploaded
the picture and make sure it is accessible for us. And even if we can see the
picture
I doubt if we can help as a picture doesn’t show the underlying data and
formulas.

In Debian findet man Apache OpenOffice tatsächlich seit längerem nicht.

deb-Pakete können von unseren Seiten

http://www.openoffice.org/de/download/

heruntergeladen werden. Das heruntergeladene tar.gz-Archiv ist zu
entpacken, und die darin enthaltenen deb-Pakete sind mit dpkg -i * zu
installieren. Installiert wird nach /opt.

Tried to add jdk-12.jdk but get the message "The Java runtime environment you

Get the same result using AOO 4.1.6 and AOO Developer Build 4.2.0

Was able to add jdk-11.0.2.jdk back to the list of installed Java.
