hello.
first ask them about format that they accept.
if they accept only docx, you should use libreoffice instead not openoffice.

hello.
openoffice now supports import and exportt of files to odt and doc and
some other format like html, txt, rtf etc.
but if you need exporting as docx, i recommend you to install libreoffice.
it even supports as docx format!

libreoffice is one fork of openoffice and most of there features are the same.
but libreoffice has more options in compare to openoffice.
because libreoffice' license is mozilla public license if i am correct.

2017-02-02 Thread nasrin khaksar
hello.
if you installed openoffice by default and typical installation, you
can use the installer file again.
open the installer file, select modify and also uncheck the quick start.
hope that helps and God bless you!

Re: knowing why version I Have

2017-02-02 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi.
if you go to all programs or desktop, you can realize the version of
openoffice which you use.
also, you can use help and about to see the version.
even in the add-remove programs or program and features you can see
the version of your different programs.
but help and about is the easiest way.
hope that helps and God bless you.

i tried to download only writer in two years ago without any success.

easy for users that only want one or two part of the program, not one
complete package.

need writer not one complete office package!
i wish that developers of these great office projects, read my comment.

Re: Research for School

2016-08-20 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi.
i mentioned some different aspect which i observed.
1/ openoffice writer if opensource free product and microsoft office
word is not.
for example: even if you want to use only word, you should pay more
than one hundred dollars.
2/ openoffice writer has classic menu, and microsoft word has ribbon
menu since version 2007.
3/ openoffice is multi language and you can install all language packs
and dictionaries for free!
but even the languages which are used in microsoft office is commercial.
4/ openoffice writer is multi platform and microsoft office word has
not linux version.
5/ openoffice complete package is only 134 mb, but microsoft office
word only is near 400 mb!
hope thats help.
thanks and God bless you all.

openoffice supports many formats for import,

change it you can not save it as .docx.
i wish that Openoffice supports .docx format even for save like
libreoffice in the new future!

Re: automatic spellcheck

2016-03-20 Thread nasrin khaksar
hi.
you can go to tools menu, options language, writing aids and check and
uncheck the items that you want.
for example: check spelling as you type, check grammar etc.

introducing myself and appreciation to you

2016-03-09 Thread nasrin khaksar
in the name of god the most compassionate the most merciful.
hi every one.
i am a new member to open office mailing users.
i am a big advocate of open source projects specially libreoffice and
open office!
i am blind and i became familiar with these two projects since summer of 2014
i realy appreciate your efferts and sincere works.
its very great and admireable to helping other people sincerely
without any expectation.
also islam honour these kind of efferts and encourage its followers to
do good to others and appreciate there efferts.
in the holy quran we read:
And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet with a better
[greeting] than it or return it; surely Allah takes account of all
things
i try my best always to introduce libreoffice-open office to my fellow
man, my friends and kindred.
also i reported my bugs and requests about both two projects and
strive to support them and promote them.
the message of islam is monotheism, mercy, kindness, compassionate,
generosity, justice, fraternity, friendship, sincerity, piety,
virtues, morality and other good characteristics and to attain devine
infinite mercy and eternal bliss of paradise for all mankind in all
over the world!
i ask my questions in my next emails and try to answer other users
questions when i know the reply.
thank you and god bless you all.
