If anyone can get it working, I'd like to know how you did it.
I read that same article Monday, and never found anyway to get it working, at
least not in the live mode. I did not try it with any photos already on my
phone.

RE: looking for a good single ear piece for my iPhone

2018-12-12 Thread Reg Sullivan
I just bought the Jabra Mini on Black Friday from Amazon for $24.95 Canadian,
normally $40.

So far I find it very functional and much more comfortable than the
Plantronics Voyager for an all day usage.

I constantly lose my earpieces so I go with the pretty good but under $40
Plantronics PTL M165. The sound is pretty good and the microphone fair. The
little wire loop that you can snap on or off that goes around your ear means it
never falls out when you run into that bush or turn your head too fast.

Another thing to consider and why I prefer the Plantronics earpieces is that

There’s also a Plantronics iOS app that you can access to enable/disable

The Explorer 50 has the MicroUSB connection for charging.

I’ve not seen the Legend so I do not know what it is like, but the price on the
Legend is around $119, compared to $28 and some change for the Explorer 50.

The E50 as it shows up in Bluetooth, has 11 hours of battery life.

Considering that I have had the Legend for years, I would assume that an
updated model would have improvements. One thing i know is that the Legend has
a magnetic connector for charging, and the 5200 has the traditional micro USB
connector. Many folks didn't like the magnetic connector because it could
easily be jarred and disconnected from the headset.

Hi I am looking for A good sounding ear piece for use with my iPhone for taking

So if anyone has one that they can recommend that has good battery life and
handles wind noise well and sounds good on A call.

Please recommend it to me.

Re: Outlook for IOS?

2018-12-12 Thread Dave Jones
Hello
That outlook for iOS app appears to be completely accessible. Our use it
every day for work. You can indeed create new mail folders from in the app.
I have pasted the steps for doing this below from the outlook for iOS help
system.
Thank you,How do I add or create folders?

   1. Tap and hold any message from the inbox view.
   2. Icons at the bottom will allow you to flag, mark read/unread, move,
   delete, archive.
   3. Tap the move icon (folder). Once tapped, a list of existing folders
   in the account will appear.
   4. Tap the + icon located in the upper right hand corner of the app to
   create a new folder.

Exactly, I guess while it may be possible to use an iPad exclusively it
certainly is not efficient and if even people like Jonathan Mosen who make a
living being proficient on all sorts of platforms say that it is so much faster
and more efficient to use Word for writing and editing then there must be
something to it. I consider myself pretty proficient on an iPhone having used
one for 9 years, but there is just no comparison when it comes to using a
spreadsheet or even browsing the web. Having to turn the rotor to be able to go
to HTML items like headings, tables, buttons, edit fields and so on is slower
by magnitudes than pressing "H" for heading or numbers to go to headings of a
specific level, finding a specific link using the links list or the virtual
search feature if you know what you are looking for is super fast and I don't
think there are even equivalent features in iOS for things like the links list,
or lists of other HTML elements.

Changing the subject to capture the information in regard to spreadsheets and
IPADS use. I too have significant doubts as to how someone using an IPAD would
compare to someone using a PC to work with Excel. I tried Numbers, both on a
MAC and an IPhone, but found it clunky at best. If someone can explain how to
use Numbers or Excel on an IPad or Iphone in a comparable way as using one on a
Windows PC I would very much love to hear about it.

Excel has so many helpful key commands in Windows that IOS just can't
duplicate, or at least does not duplicate. For instance, in working with a
large spreadsheet, you can use home/(left,right,up,or down) to go to the last
cell with data in which ever direction. That is simply something I have not
seen any way of doing on IOS. This is not to mention all of the items listed
in a previous post.

RE: Spreadsheet tips

2018-12-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel

Excel has so many helpful key commands in Windows that IOS just can't

something I have not seen any way of doing on IOS. This is not to

Hi, list.
Just a quick question: Would I automatically be subscribing to a paid music
service if I download the latest Itune?
English is not my first language, the reason I am asking this question is that
when installation of Itune started, the first screen said the following:
“iTunes dialog
Welcome to iTunes iTunes is the easiest way to enjoy your favorite music,
movies, TV shows, and more on your PC. iTunes now includes Apple Music — a
revolutionary music service, the all-new Beats 1 live radio station, and an
exciting new way for fans to connect with their favorite artists. Become a
member to play from millions of songs in the Apple Music catalog, or keep them
offline for playback later. Apple Music is joined by the iTunes Store, where
you can download everything you need to be entertained. Your purchases are
stored in iCloud and are available on your devices at no additional cost. To
get started installing iTunes, click Next. 12.9.2.6
Next > Button
To activate press spacebar.
alt+N”
Would I subscribe to this music service if I hit the next button?
Thanks!

Hi Fazil,

iTunes gives you the option to subscribe to Apple Music, but you don't have to.
Once you install and run it, you will be asked if you want to start a free
trial of Apple Music, and you can say no.

Best,

You must have a bit of a heavier touch, I like 3D Touch since I use several
apps which give me 3D Touch options for a good portion of their

think it's how you got used to using a touch screen and I find it quite
interesting how some things are a bother for people which for me are just
right.

Hi and thanks for your response.

s.

I have identified the problem, 3D touch was enabled and set to sensitive
hence all the unwanted menus etc popping up everytime I moved my finger.

I've turned it off whilst I set up the phone. I may turn it back on at some
stage but I am not a fan of it for VIPs

Thanks

While there are of course some differences between an iPhone 6 and 7 I

no difference in how the on-screen keyboard works. I just bought an
iPhone 8 and coming from a 6S I noticed no difference in the typing
experience (apart from the fact of course that the 6S Plus has a larger
screen).
If this is a brand-new phone Did you make sure there is nothing else
covering the screen, new iPhones come with a plastic film covering both
front and back, did you make sure the screen is clean and what typing
style do you normally use? If you normally use standard typing where you
have to double or split tap each letter and it got set to touch typing I
could see how this could seem confusing since with touch typing al you
have to do to type a letter is to find it and then lift up your finger.

Subject: Keyboard settings for IPHONE 7

Hi all,

I am setting up an IPHONE 7 for my wife and I am noticing several
differences in functionality from our existing IPHONE 6 models even
though they are both on IOS 12.1 etc.

In particular the keyboard seems somewhat "lively" wih things popping
up all over the place when all I am trying to do is input an e mail
address.

I would be glad of any advice as to what to turn off to calm down the
screen.

Any resources which cover the differences between a 6 and 7 would be
useful.

Thanks

Gary

Subject: Subscription to A Paid Music Service When Upgrading Itune To The
Latest Version?

Thanks!
